PERCUTANEOUS CIRCULATORY SUPPORT DEVICE INCLUDING GUIDEWIRE DISTAL TIP PORTION
20230226341 · 2023-07-20 ·

A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing and an impeller disposed within the housing. The impeller is rotatable relative to the housing to cause blood to flow through the housing. A cannula is coupled to the housing, and a distal tip portion is coupled to the cannula opposite the housing. The distal tip portion includes an inner shaping core configured to maintain a predetermined shape of the distal tip portion and an outer layer disposed outwardly from the inner shaping core or the distal tip portion includes an atraumatic, sphere-shaped distal end.

A medical tube or cannula comprising enhanced imaging structure and/or materials is provided. In some embodiments, an otherwise solid echogenic band may be interrupted by echolucent features and/or materials. In other embodiments, an echogenic band may be adjacent to an echolucent band, while in other embodiments one or more echolucent bands may be provided. In some cases, two or more spaced-apart echolucent bands may be provided. In some embodiments, an echolucent band may comprise an echogenic feature or materials. Generally, the juxtaposition of echogenic and echolucent materials enhances the imaging contrast of an intravascular device and allows easy identification and positioning of the juxtaposed echogenic and echolucent regions.

Loading guide lumen

An apparatus is disclosed including: an intracardiac pump device having a path for a guidewire extending through the pump device from a first opening to a second opening; and a lumen which extends from a first end located outside of the pump device, into the pump device through the first opening in the pump device, along the path for the guidewire, out of the pump device through the second opening, and to a second end located outside of the pump device. The lumen is configured to receive the guidewire such that when the guidewire passes through the lumen from the first end to the second end, the guidewire is positioned along the path.
