IMPLANTABLE LIGHT DELIVERY DEVICE
An implantable light delivery device comprises: a core portion cladded in a cladding, the core portion comprising upconversion nano-particles (UCNPs) encapsulated in an encapsulation material. The implantable light delivery device may be used in treatments such as photodynamic therapy to provide an emission of light at a wavelength configured by the selection of UCNPs. The encapsulation material may comprise hydrogel and the cladding may comprise fluorinated ethylene propylene.
VIBRATION STIMULATION DEVICE
Disclosed is a vibration stimulation device. The vibration stimulation device includes a box having a cavity, vibrators disposed in the cavity; light emitting elements disposed between the vibrators or disposed on the vibrators, an upper vibration layer configured to connect the vibrators and the light emitting elements to edges of the box on the cavity, and bumps disposed on the vibrators.
MEDICAL, SURGICAL AND PATIENT LIGHTING APPARATUS, SYSTEM, METHOD AND CONTROLS WITH PATHOGEN KILLING ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION
A surgical site infection management lighting system and method that utilizes Far Ultraviolet C radiation that is safely used to eliminate or reduce surgical site infections. An integrated visible lighting system that includes far ultraviolet radiation doses that are safe for human cell exposure and patient and medical practitioner because of the designed and engineered and computer programmed for pathogen destruction at low doses. The lighting and electromagnetic radiation system provides illumination and for high visibility which provides medical staff optimal vision while performing a surgical or medical procedure. The system further uses electromagnetic radiation frequency of 1.489-1.350 PHz and other frequencies that are pre-engineering and computer programmed for each electromagnetic radiation event during a surgical or medical procedure. The system will efficiently and safely keep all doses substantially low and safe for human exposure while effectively killing and destroying pathogens.
Systems and methods of unattended treatment of a subject's head or neck
In accordance with various aspects of the present teachings, systems and methods for applying treatment energy, e.g., electromagnetic radiation such as laser radiation in the visible and near infrared wavelengths, to body areas having bulges and fat deposits, loose skin, pain, acne and/or wounds. In some aspects, the systems and methods can enable relatively lengthy treatments to be performed by having the practitioner set-up and/or start the treatment, thereafter allowing the treatment to proceed safely and effectively without the continued presence of the practitioner.
TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
According to an aspect, there is provided a treatment device for performing a treatment operation on or to a subject. The treatment device comprises: an optical diffuser arranged on the treatment device such that an outer surface of the optical diffuser is proximate to, or in contact with, skin of the subject when the treatment device is to be used to perform the treatment operation; and an imaging unit for obtaining one or more images using light passing through the optical diffuser into the treatment device; wherein the treatment device is further configured for providing one or more images to a processing unit for determination of whether the treatment device is in contact with the skin.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR UNATTENDED TREATMENT OF A PATIENT
An unattended approach can increase the reproducibility and safety of the treatment as the chance of over/under treating of a certain area is significantly decreased. On the other hand, unattended treatment of uneven or rugged areas can be challenging in terms of maintaining proper distance or contact with the treated tissue, mostly on areas which tend to differ from patient to patient (e.g. facial area). Delivering energy via a system of active elements embedded in a flexible pad adhesively attached to the skin offers a possible solution. The unattended approach may include delivering of multiple energies to enhance a visual appearance.
ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE COMPLIANCE MONITORING SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
The present invention relates generally to systems, devices, and methods for tracking compliance of orthodontic appliance usage, and more specifically to systems, devices, and methods for tracking compliance of orthodontic appliance usage using a compliance device and/or a light therapy apparatus. The invention provides compliances device that can be configured to be disposed within a patient's mouth. In some embodiments, the compliance device can comprise a sensor configured to detect an input associated with whether an orthodontic appliance is at least partially disposed within the patient's mouth at a first time and at a second time, with the second time being subsequent to the first time.
POST CECUM PHOTOTHERAPY
A system and method for identifying a post cecum position of an ingestible, phototherapeutic capsule traveling through a gastrointestinal (GI) tract to prevent intestinal blockage and facilitating deployment of additional phototherapeutic capsules in accordance with patient needs. The system employs an ex-vitro beacon in wireless communication with the capsule. The ex-vitro beacon is deployed in the vicinity of the McBurney's point to direct a beacon signal toward the cecum to identify capsule passage into the large intestine less prone to blockage.
Light based body contouring system
A noninvasive method of reducing a user's body apparent body fat by applying a device emitting high power light having a wavelength shorter than 1065 nm externally through the skin of the patient. The device is placed on or attached to one or more areas of a patient's body. Sufficient energy, with a targeted value of 6.6 J/cm absorbed, is applied to one or more of those areas to cause a reduction in the measurement in the energized areas. The preferred methodology uses LEDs at about 532 nm and 635 nm. Targeted energy levels are a minimum of 2 W/cm for LED emissions applied every other day for a minimum of 75 seconds per exposed area; until desired amount of size reduction is achieved.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation system includes an energy source, an electronics unit with a controller, and an actuator that is coupled with the electronics unit and/or the energy source. The actuator emits electromagnetic waves for stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue. The electronics unit is disposed in a housing. The stimulation system is configured for at least temporary implantation in a human or animal body. The controller controls the stimulation of tissue in the body by way of the electromagnetic waves emitted by the actuator. A selector of the stimulation system selects the area of the said tissue for stimulation. The selector includes a masking device for masking certain areas of the tissue, so that an intensity of the stimulation for the masked areas is reduced or equal to zero.
