The present invention relates to a device for applying medical and cosmetic radiation to a human body or to parts thereof. Said radiation is preferably optical radiation. The device according to the invention comprises at least one first illuminant for producing the medical and cosmetic radiation. The device also comprises a first air flow for cooling an illuminant and a second air flow for cooling the human body or parts thereof. The device comprises at least one air-conditioning system, which is fluidically connected to the second air flow and designed for the air-conditioning treatment of the air flow. The device is characterized in that the device also has at least one disinfecting chamber, which is fluidically connected to the second air flow and is designed to physically disinfect the second air flow. The invention also relates to a method for operating such a device and to a corresponding disinfecting chamber.

The microprobe includes a transducer configured to receive the light signal and modulate the light signal with neural signal information sensed from the tissue. In one aspect, an example handheld device for providing a spectrochrome output includes (a) an enclosed chamber containing one or more substances; (b) a light source; (c) an electromagnetic coil; (d) one or more magnets; and (e) a housing, wherein the housing is configured to: (i) secure the enclosed chamber; (ii) secure the light source such that an output of the light source is substantially aligned to pass through the enclosed chamber in one or more directions; and (iii) secure the electromagnetic coil around the enclosed chamber such that an electromagnetic field is created in a substantially same direction of the output of the light source through the enclosed chamber.

An illumination system for a medical technology therapy and/or diagnosis system is provided. The system includes a light source, an optical waveguide, and an optical element in the form of a diffuser element. The optical waveguide has a first end that is connectable or assignable to the light source and the diffuser element is arranged at a second end of the optical waveguide so that light from the optical waveguide is injected into the optical element. The optical element has a lateral surface covered by a reflector layer at least in a section thereof. The reflector layer includes a mirror layer. The optical element has a light-reflecting area covered by the reflector layer and a light-transmissive area that is free of the reflector layer. Thus, light injected into the optical element is reflected on the light-reflecting area and emitted from the light-transmissive area.

Methods of treating skin disorders are disclosed. The methods involve impinging light having a first peak wavelength on the tissue at a first radiant flux, wherein the first peak wavelength and the first radiant flux is selected to provide an anti-inflammatory effect, and impinging light having a second peak wavelength on the tissue at a second radiant flux, wherein the second peak wavelength and the second radiant flux are selected to either stimulate enzymatic generation of nitric oxide to increase endogenous stores of nitric oxide or release nitric oxide from the endogenous stores are disclosed. Representative skin disorders include pruritus, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and eczema, and the skin can include the scalp. The methods can reduce stinging and/or itching associated with the skin disorder. The anti-inflammatory wavelengths can be in the range of between about 650 and about 680 nm.

The present application discloses a LED therapeutic device comprising a top case, a light assembly, a controller, a switch assembly, a bottom case and a power supply.
