20230218924 · 2023-07-13 ·

A method and apparatus for marking a target with a radiopaque marker is disclosed. The method may include providing a radiopaque filament and inserting at least portion of the radiopaque filament into tissue. The filament may extend continuously and at last partially around a perimeter of the target so that the filament is disposed in a plurality of surgical planes to demarcate the target with the radiopaque maker.

SELECTOR FOR REMOTELY MEDICAL DEVICE / AFTERLOADING

The invention relates to a medical device for transporting and positioning a therapeutic emitting element into a treatment channel to be temporarily placed in or at the body of the patient to treat tumours. The therapeutic emitting element is connected to a transport element and which is driven by at least one drive motor. The device has a connecting element comprising multiple connector openings. The connecting element is used for connecting a transport tube to a respective connector opening. The transport tube is connected to an applicator, needle, tube or catheter for driving the transport element into the treatment channel. The device has a selector mechanism through which the plurality of transport elements are driven. An annular guiding arrangement guides the transport elements into connector openings in the connecting element. The annular guiding arrangement also comprises a plurality of spaced outlets. The inlets of the multiple patterns are each connected to an outlet by guiding channels. Each outlet aligns to a connector opening in the connecting element to allow the transport element from each outlet to be driven into the connector openings.

GUIDING TRACKED SHAPE RECONSTRUCTION FOR INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES

An intervention system employing an interventional device (10), and a sensor wire (20) manually translatable within the lumen (11). The intervention system further employs a reconstruction controller (44) for reconstructing a shape of the interventional tool (10) responsive to a sensing of a manual translation of the sensor wire (20) within the lumen (11) (e.g., a EM sensor being attached to/embedded within a guide wire), and for determining a reconstruction accuracy of a translation velocity of the sensor wire (20) within the lumen (11) to thereby facilitate an accurate reconstruction of the shape of the interventional tool (10). The reconstruction accuracy may be determined by the reconstruction controller (44) as an acceptable translation velocity being less than an acceptable threshold, an unacceptable translation velocity being greater than an unacceptable threshold, and/or a borderline translation velocity being greater than the acceptable threshold and less than the unacceptable threshold. The reconstruction controller (44) generates an acceptability indicator that may be visualizing or audibly communicated via a user interface (48).

Modular applicator for brachytherapy

A modular applicator for enabling a brachytherapy treatment comprising a central element and one or more of peripheral elements, wherein the central element is adapted with a fixation mechanism having a core for affixing the said peripheral elements thereto, wherein the fixation mechanism prevents a rotational displacement of the peripheral elements attached to the core of the fixation element with respect to the central element.
