Systems and methods for modulation and mapping of brain tissue using an ultrasound assembly
Methods and systems for modulation and mapping of brain tissue in a subject using an ultrasound assembly are provided. An exemplary method for modulation uses an ultrasound assembly including a housing and an ultrasound transducer joined to the housing. The method includes securing the housing to the head of the subject with the ultrasound transducer aligned with a region of the brain tissue to target the region of the brain tissue for modulating, and providing focused ultrasound at an acoustic pressure to the targeted region using the ultrasound transducer to induce cavitation proximate the targeted region. The method further includes detecting a cavitation signal magnitude from the induced cavitation corresponding to the acoustic pressure and modulating the targeted region.
Rejuvenating skin by heating tissue for cosmetic treatment of the face and body
Systems and methods for treating skin and subcutaneous tissue with energy such as ultrasound energy are disclosed. In various embodiments, ultrasound energy is applied at a region of interest to affect tissue by cutting, ablating, micro-ablating, coagulating, or otherwise affecting the subcutaneous tissue to conduct numerous procedures that are traditionally done invasively in a non-invasive manner. Lifting sagging tissue on a face, neck, and/or body are described. Treatment with heat is provided in several embodiments.
THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS FOR ULTRASONIC TREATMENT
A therapeutic apparatus for therapeutic ultrasonic treatment of a tissue region that contains a flowing liquid has at least one ultrasonic source and a control unit for activating the ultrasonic source in order to radiate ultrasonic pulses according to a pulse parameter set into the tissue region. The therapeutic apparatus has a measuring system configured to determine a flow velocity of the liquid and a focus control system configured to move a focus region of the ultrasonic pulse relative to the tissue region over a longitudinal portion. A movement direction of the focus region therein corresponds to a flow direction of the liquid and a movement velocity of the focus region corresponds to the flow velocity.
Devices and methods for multi-focus ultrasound therapy
Embodiments of a dermatological cosmetic treatment and imaging system and method can include use of transducer to simultaneously or substantially simultaneously produce multiple cosmetic treatment zones in tissue. The system can include a hand wand, a removable transducer module, a control module, and/or graphical user interface. In some embodiments, the cosmetic treatment system may be used in cosmetic procedures, including brow lifts, fat reduction, sweat reduction, and treatment of the décolletage. Skin tightening, lifting and amelioration of wrinkles and stretch marks are provided.
System for the ablation or the monitoring of a zone of the heart by ultrasounds and associated methods
A system for ablating or monitoring a zone of the heart, includes a system to measure the heart electrical activity; a phased array for generating a beam of focussed ultrasound signals on a targeted zone of the heart; an imaging system determining an image of a transcostal wall projected in an image plane of the phased array by taking into consideration a position and direction of the phased array and making it possible to deactivate elements of the phased array in accordance with the position of the elements with regard to the position of the projected image of the transcostal wall; a positioning system to control the position of a focussed zone of a beam of focussed ultrasound signals on the targeted zone, a monitoring system to measure a temperature and tissue deformation in the targeted zone; and a device for measuring a level of cavitation in the targeted zone.
TREATMENT DEVICE INCLUDING A TOOL-HOLDER AND A TOOL INCLUDING CONTACTLESS ROTATIONAL MOVEMENT MEANS
The present invention relates to a treatment device comprising: - an ultrasound generation unit (3) comprising an ultrasound module (32) including at least a transducer (321), - a hand-held part (2) comprising a gripping body (21), and a head (23) mounted on the body, the hand-held part and the ultrasound generation unit being designed to be joined together by contactless coupling means such that, when the hand-held part and the ultrasound generation unit are joined, the rotational movement of the upstream base between first and second positions causes the rotational movement of the ultrasound module between the first and second positions.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING INTERFERENCE BETWEEN MRI APPARATUS AND ULTRASOUND SYSTEMS
Approaches for performing magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of an anatomic region in conjunction with an ultrasound operation on the anatomic region include transmitting multiple ultrasound waves or pulses having a fundamental frequency and multiple harmonics to the anatomic region; transmitting an MR pulse sequence to the anatomic region and receiving, therefrom, MR signals within a band of frequencies; and causing the band of frequencies to be located between two adjacent frequencies of the harmonics.
ULTRASONIC RADIATOR AND ULTRASONIC DEVICE
An ultrasonic radiator includes a plurality of plate-like elements, a supporter, and a first adhesive. The plurality of plate-like elements each have, on the front side or the back side, a radiation surface from which ultrasonic waves are emitted. The supporter holds the plurality of plate-like elements in such a manner that the respective radiation surfaces in different directional orientations are directed toward the same location. The plurality of plate-like elements are bonded to the supporter with the first adhesive. The plurality of plate-like elements each include a plurality of vibratory elements that are variously located in the radiation surface and that generate ultrasonic waves. The first adhesive is applied to lateral surfaces of each of the plurality of plate-like elements.
OPERATOR-INDEPENDENT HISTOTRIPSY DEVICE
A histotripsy device may include a headset configured to be mounted to an about a cranium of a human or animal, at least one transducer mounted to the headset and positioned such that, with the headset mounted to and about the cranium, the at least one transducer is positioned over and in contact with at least one temporal or suboccipital region of the cranium, wherein the at least one transducer is configured to emit focused radiation in at an ultrasonic frequency or frequency range, at least one processor, and at least one memory having instructions stored therein executable by the at least one processor to cause the at least one processor to activate the at least one transducer to produce at least one pulse of ultrasonic radiation having a pulse duration of 1 milliseconds or longer.
