ADJUSTABLE FOG JET NOZZLE
A nozzle includes an inlet end having one or more inlet apertures and an outlet end having one or more outlet apertures. The nozzle includes a body member that extends between the inlet end and the outlet end. In some embodiments, the nozzle includes a central member that extends centrally through the body member. The nozzle includes an end member fixedly coupled with the central member at the outlet end. The nozzle includes a slidable member translatably coupled with the central member. The slidable member is configured to direct fluid that flows through the body member outwards towards an inner surface of the body member and translation of the slidable member adjusts a K-factor of the nozzle.

FIREFIGHTING APPARATUS WITH FIRE RETARDANT APPLICATION SYSTEM AND RELATED METHOD OF USE
A firefighting apparatus can include a system that applies a fire retardant material to provide a temporary fireproof and/or fire retardant coating to vegetation, structures and/or flammable materials. The apparatus can include a high capacity tank with an integral, internal agitator to mix liquid therein with a fire retardant polymer, such as a superabsorbent polymer, to produce a fire retardant coating material. The apparatus can include an upper deck to store bales of polymer and an access panel to load bales into the tank for continuous production of the coating material. Primary and secondary pumps can selectively pump the coating material in stationary and/or moving modes. The apparatus can be NFPA 1901 compliant, and can operate as a fire truck or vehicle. Optionally, the system can include a venturi to mix the polymer with liquid to produce the coating material. Related methods of use are provided.

NOZZLE ASSEMBLY WITH TARGETED SPRAY DISTRIBUTION
A grate assembly includes a grate and a nozzle. The grate includes a nozzle aperture. The nozzle is received by the nozzle aperture. The nozzle includes a base and a baffle coupled to the base. The base and the baffle define a plurality of flow paths. The nozzle also includes a deflector ring removably positioned between the baffle and the base. The deflector ring includes a body that defines a spray outlet, wherein the body allows fluid flow through one or more flow paths aligned with the spray outlet and prevents fluid flow through the remaining flow.
TELESCOPING WATERWAY WITH INTEGRATED VALVE
A telescoping waterway component for use in firefighting equipment has a multi-piece outer tube and a telescoping inner tube through which fluid flows. An inlet component is selectively positionable at different inlet heights along the outer tube and can be positioned to provide different inlet angles. A rotating shutoff element is mounted within a manifold of the inlet component. The inner tube can be retracted to nest within a hollow cross-section of the shutoff element when that element is closed. A valve interlock disables an operator from rotating the shutoff element while the inner tube is retracted, or from retracting the inner tube while the shutoff element is open.
Firefighting nozzle with trigger operated slide valve
A firefighting nozzle comprises an elongated barrel having a inlet opening at one end for engaging a source of fluid under pressure and a discharge opening at an opposite end for engaging a discharge element for dispensing the fluid under pressure. A valve arrangement includes a slide valve element slidably mounted within the barrel for reciprocating movement along the length of the barrel to adjust the flow of fluid through the barrel. The nozzle includes a pistol grip trigger assembly mounted on the barrel that includes a segment gear pivotably for engaging a toothed surface of the slide valve element so that rotation of the segment gear causes reciprocation of the slide valve element. A four-bar linkage arrangement is incorporated between a manually actuated trigger to translate depressing the trigger to controllable reciprocation of the slide valve element. The four-bar linkage provides a mechanical advantage that allows the firefighter to easily control the trigger and thus the fluid discharge from the nozzle.
