Gel production system and method
A gel production system and method, in which a powder configured for mixing with an aqueous solvent such as water to form a gel is metered into a pressurized air stream to fluidize the powder, and the fluidized powder is injected into a pressurized water supply. The fluidized powder is at a greater pressure than the water supply, helping to hydrate the fluidized powder in the water, and the water supply plus fluidized powder are subsequently mixed in a mixing chamber to form the gel.
FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENT DISCHARGE APPARATUS
Provided is a dropping-type fire extinguishing body that, in fire extinguishing using a gel-like fire extinguishing agent, can allow the fire extinguishing agent to be smoothly conveyed and dropped.
A dropping-type fire extinguishing body 1 to be dropped onto the fire site to extinguish the fire, wherein a gelling agent 3 is contained in a bag body 2 formed of a water-permeable material and water is permeated into the body and is mixed with the gelling agent to prepare a gel-like fire extinguishing agent, thereby filling the gel-like fire extinguishing agent into the inside of the bag body.

SYSTEM FOR FORMING AND DELIVERING FLUIDS IN GEL FORM BY MEANS OF A LANCE WITH A VENTURI DEVICE
A system that allows a gel to be formed by mixing the solid precursor of the gel and water and spraying same onto surfaces is provided. The system includes: a conveyor for the added gelling agent or solid; a pair of openings on the sides of the conveyor tube; a dosing device located after the openings, which distributes the amount of solid added to the conveyor; a Venturi shut-off valve; a mains connection which allows water to enter the system when the water shut-off valve is opened; a Venturi inlet pipe which connects to the Venturi chamber through which the water passes; a Venturi outlet pipe through which the water passes with the solid; and a lance for discharging the gel produced by mixing the water and the solid.

On-board mixing system for firefighting chemicals
A system for mixing fire-suppressant gel with water on board an aircraft includes a gel reservoir mounted in the aircraft, a pump for injecting gel into a flow of water into an aircraft-mounted payload tank, and a control system for controlling gel-water mix ratios. The control system monitors water volume flowing into the water tank, and regulates the gel pump to inject gel in appropriate amounts to produce gel-water emulsions having precise gel-water ratios. Settings for the control system are set by the pilot before water flow water is initiated. Once the aircraft is in flight, the gel-water mixing process is automatically controlled through a trigger on the pilot's control stick. The aircraft may be a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft adapted to load water from a lake or other source while in flight, or a fixed-wing aircraft adapted to load water on land from a pressurized water source.

24-7 Offsite Structural/Nonstructural Exterior Fire Detection Protection And Method
This invention embodies a 24-7 fire protection system for fires originating outside of a structure. The invention integrates stand-alone, facility-based fire protection systems, control module and video and thermal sensors with offsite control functionality at the offsite Fire Defense Center (FDC). through multiple, redundant communications systems. Trained operators use sensor input and additional data streams to monitor fire threat in real time and deploy onsite optimized structure defense systems at the optimum time. System can be deployed onsite, remotely by an authorized facility owner/manager (via mobile application or Internet connection) or, by an autonomous control system in pre-set specified emergencies. This invention embodies the mapping, pipe and valve layout, and devices to cover the structure and, if desired, surrounding defensible spaces with a gel-water mix. The invention's gel-water mix provides protection for 48 hours, depending on humidity, more than enough for a fire front to pass the structure.
Firefighting polymer gel preparation onboard aircraft
A tank on a firefighting aircraft initially is loaded with water. A polymer gel emulsion vessel is provided on the aircraft, but is not activated and mixed with tank water until such polymer gel preparation is initiated by an operator. When initiated, a pump pulls water from the tank and doses it with gel emulsion. Double elbows and/or the pump impeller fully activates the polymer gel. The activated polymer gel is mixed within the tank by one of a variety of systems including mixing paddles or sparging with gas. In one embodiment, a hollow tower of telescoping form has a float to keep an upper end near a surface in the tank and a sparging gas entry is a controlled distance below the surface, such that gas of limited pressure, such as from a ram air inlet can sparge and mix the water and activated polymer gel emulsion effectively.
