Wetting agent composition for extinguishing fires
The present invention relates to a wetting extinguishing agent composition, comprising a metal carbonate; urea; a freezing point lowering agent; a fluorine-based surfactant; an amphoteric surfactant; and water, wherein the wetting extinguishing agent composition has excellent extinguishing ability not only for Class A fires, which are general fires, and Class B fires, which are oil-based fires, but also for Class K fires, which are kitchen fires.
Antifreeze compositions
Compositions of matter that are antifreeze composition, coolants, heat transfer fluids, and de-icing fluids based on the use of coalescent efficient glycol ethers.
Antifreeze formulations and sprinkler systems comprising improved antifreezes
Antifreezes are provided for deployment in wet sprinkler systems located in cold environments. The antifreezes allow for the wet sprinkler system to be actuated under temperatures below 32° F. Wet sprinklers, sprinkler systems, methods of providing for the control, suppression and/or extinguishment of a fire that occur in a cold environment, and methods of preventing wet sprinklers from freezing also are provided. The sprinklers, sprinkler systems and methods can be used in residential, commercial and storage settings.
Fire extinguishing systems and compositions and methods of use thereof
Some embodiments disclosed herein pertain to compositions for extinguishing or suppressing fires, systems for using the same, methods of making compositions for extinguishing or suppressing fires, and/or methods of using the same. In some embodiments, the compositions disclosed herein are suitable for use on Class D fires (e.g., suppressing or extinguishing the fires). In some embodiments, the compositions disclosed herein comprise a botanical material. In some embodiments, the compositions lack sugar alcohols and/or halogenated compounds.
FIREFIGHTING FOAM COMPOSITION
An aqueous concentrate, which can be diluted with an aqueous diluent to form a foam precursor composition, is provided. The foam precursor composition may be aerated to form a firefighting foam. The aqueous firefighting composition includes a sugar component; a surfactant component, which includes one or more of an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant; polysaccharide thickener, which includes succinoglycan; and at least about 30 wt. % water.
FIRE-FIGHTING FOAM COMPOSITION WITH MICROFIBROUS CELLULOSE
An aqueous fire-fighting composition includes a surfactant component that includes an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, or a mixture of any two or more thereof; and a suspension agent comprising microfibrous cellulose. The suspension agent may include a water-soluble oligosaccharide and/or polysaccharide co-agent together with the microfibrous cellulose. The fire-fighting composition may also include one or more of a sugar component, organic solvent and a polysaccharide thickener, and be substantially free of fluorinated additives.
FIREFIGHTING FOAM COMPOSITION
A method of fighting a fire, the method comprising: aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an areated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein: the firefighting foam composition comprises: a sugar component; a surfactant component comprising an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, or a mixture of any two or more thereof; a polysaccharide thickener comprising succinoglycan; and at least about 30 wt. % water.
FIRE-FIGHTING FOAM CONCENTRATE
A method of fighting a fire, the method includes aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an areated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein: the firefighting foam composition includes a sugar component comprising a monosaccharide sugar, a sugar alcohol, or a combination thereof; a polysaccharide thickener; a surfactant component comprising an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant or a mixture of any two or more thereof; a water-miscible organic solvent; and at least about 30 wt. % water.
FIRE-FIGHTING FOAM COMPOSITION
A method of fighting a fire includes aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an areated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein: the firefighting foam composition includes a sugar component, which comprises monosaccharide sugar and/or sugar alcohol; anionic surfactant; zwitterionic surfactant; organic solvent comprising glycol ether and/or glycol solvent; polysaccharide thickener; and at least about 40 wt. % water; wherein the composition is substantially free of any amine oxide or nonionic surfactants; and the composition is substantially free of fluorinated compounds.
FIRE-FIGHTING FOAM CONCENTRATE
A method of fighting a fire, the method includes aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an areated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein the firefighting foam composition includes a surfactant component comprising an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, optionally a nonionic surfactant, or a mixture of any two or more thereof; an aliphatic alcohol-based component comprising at least two compounds selected from C.sub.8-C.sub.14-aliphatic alcohols and ethoxylates of C.sub.10-C.sub.14-aliphatic alcohols having an average of no more than about 6 ethylene oxide units; and at least about 30 wt. % water.
