Golf Ball Tracking System and Method
A system and method for providing active golf ball location tracking according to the present invention is a hand-held device having a memory having instructions stored thereon, a display device, and a processor configured to execute the instructions on the memory to cause the hand-held device to establish a connection with a first golf ball among the plurality of golf balls, load a data buffer containing a unique ID into the first golf ball, periodically determine a current position of the first golf ball until the current position begins to change, receive cellular network tower signals associate with the first golf ball, periodically triangulate a moving position of the first golf ball using the cellular network tower signals, when the moving position of the first golf ball stops changing, determine a range and direction of the first golf ball from the hand-held device; and display the range and direction of the first golf ball on the display device.
System, method, and apparatus for managing miniature golf players
A method and apparatus for automatically scoring a golf player includes detecting and recording the golf player at a golf tee pad by an identification reading device at the golf tee pad reading an identification device of a golf club that is used by the golf player. Movement of a golf ball after it is hit by the golf club is detected. A location of the golf ball when the golf ball stops is recorded and the golf player is credited with a stroke. Subsequently, each time movement of the golf ball is detected, the location of the golf ball is updated and the golf player is credited with another of the stroke.
Golf aid including heads up display for green reading
An electronic golf aid system for assisting users with reading greens on golf courses includes a camera that captures images of the user's field of view, and an electronic display device with a display screen that displays captured images. A processor, which communicates with the camera and display device, is programmed to: receive signals from the camera indicative of images of a golf ball and a cup on the green; determine respective locations for the golf ball and cup; determine a perspective view of the topology of the green between the golf ball and cup from the user's point of view; determine, based on the green's topology, a proposed trajectory line from the golf ball's location to the cup's location; and direct the electronic display device to display the proposed trajectory line superimposed on the surface of the green as the green is shown in real-time on the display screen.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRACKING PERFORMANCE OF A PLAYER
A method for tracking performance of player including determining global direction of magnetic field at first court and computing first court specific data; providing rotation for rotating apparatus about spin axis via player, wherein rotating apparatus comprising XYZ-magnetic field sensor; measuring plurality of magnetic field values as function of time when rotating apparatus is rotating about spin axis; computing magnetic field component of magnetic field in direction of local body co-ordinate of spin axis of rotating apparatus; determining direction of spin axis using computed magnetic field component of magnetic field and determined global direction of magnetic field; determining player specific data comprising angle of spin axis with respect to horizontal ground plane and angle of shot direction with respect to horizontal component of spin axis; and calibrating and storing first court specific data and player specific data to track performance of player at first court.
Autonomous tennis assistant systems
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for autonomous tennis assistant systems. Example methods include determining, by a device, an outer boundary line of a tennis court, generating a digital representation of the tennis court using the outer boundary line, where the digital representation includes at least a portion of an out-of-bounds area adjacent to the outer boundary line, determining a first location of a first tennis ball, and causing a tennis ball retrieval robot to move to the first location to retrieve the first tennis ball, where the tennis ball retrieval robot is wirelessly connected to the device.
Information processing device, information processing method, and computer program
There is provided an information processing device, an information processing method, and a computer program capable of more reliably recognizing positions of a plurality of detection targets. The information processing device includes a control unit for recognizing positions of a first detection target and a second detection target that are present on the same surface. The control unit recognizes the position of the first detection target based on sensing data obtained by a first sensor for sensing the first detection target from a first direction, and recognizes the position of the second detection target based on sensing data obtained by a second sensor for sensing the second detection target from a direction opposite to the first direction across the same surface.
SELF PROPELLED GOLF CART PAIRED TO GOLF BALL
System and method for a golf cart to automatically proceed to the location of a struck golf ball. The system and method allow a golfer to play golf without the need to keep diligent track of the ball. The golf cart determines the location of the struck ball and the proceeds to the location of the ball. This reduces the time needed to find a struck ball and reduces the instances of lost balls.
GOLF BALL LOCATION ASCERTAINING METHOD AND A GOLF PLAY INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a golf ball location ascertaining method and a golf play information providing system. The golf ball location ascertaining method comprises a first step of ascertaining a motion location at which a predetermined motion is taken when a golfer located near a golf ball on a golf field takes the predetermined motion, and a second step of ascertaining the location of the golf ball on a golf course by using golf course data on the golf field and the motion location.
Golf Ball Analytic Measurement Device and Method
A system for measuring golf ball trajectory characteristics is disclosed. The system includes artificial grass with a launch location for a golf ball and a plurality of wide-angle distance optical sensors mechanically connected to the artificial grass positioned such that a field of measurement of each wide-angle distance optical sensors intersects. The system also includes a central processing unit connected to the wide-angle distance optical sensors, the central processing unit configured to collect distance measurements from the wide-angle distance optical sensors and to determine a velocity of a trajectory of the golf ball from the launch location to the intersection of the field of measurement of each wide-angle distance optical sensors given a distance between the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors, a distance between the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors and the launch location, and the distance measurements from the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors. Once the velocity of the trajectory of the golf ball is determined, the central processing unit transmits the velocity to a display.
