Inline deflecting swim fin
11202936 · 2021-12-21 ·

A foot inline deflecting swim fin with hinge coupled to a two-leaf-blade fin with embedded channel-hinge with leaves free to rotate from a perpendicular fluid flow configuration upon power stroke to parallel fluid flow configuration upon an upstroke. The hinge-leaf blade will have pivot stops, limiting leaf rotations to accommodate the two stroke swim propulsion, upstroke and power stroke. An embedded unitary elastomeric hinge having integrated channel with channel limiter stops is disclosed.

One embodiment of improved swim fins consists of a right foot attachment (101) with an outer right blade (111) and an inner right blade (112) which is arranged such that it does not mechanically interfere with an inner left blade (113). The blades may include a pivot mechanism (220) that allows the blades to maintain an optimal angle of attack as the swimmer moves their legs up and down. In another embodiment, a right blade (1011) and a left blade (1013) are attached to the feet of a person who is propelled by the blades above the surface of the water as they pump their feet up and down, forming a human-powered hydrofoil. Other embodiments are described and shown.

Swim Shoe

A swimming shoe for learning and/or for supporting of the leg kick in breaststroke swimming is described. The swimming shoe has a shoe body and a sole flap connected thereto via a hinge coupling. The invention is characterized by the fact that the hinge coupling has a flexible strap through which the sole flap is connected with the shoe body, with the strap flexibly pressing the sole flap with pre-tensioning against a floor space of the shoe body.

Swim training apparatus for bilateral undulation power development

A swim training apparatus for use as a monofin for bilateral undulation power development. The apparatus includes a flexible, elongated member having a series of securing members, such as through-holes extending from the top surface of the elongated member through to its bottom surface, and fasteners configured and disposed to attach to the securing member, such as straps that can extend through the through-holes, to fasten the apparatus to a user's legs. A weight can be attached using similar attachments and fasteners to the apparatus to increase undulation during use.
