TREMOR STABILISATION APPARATUS
A tremor stabilization apparatus, for example for helping to stabilize tremors of user with Parkinson's Disease or Essential Tremor. The tremor stabilization apparatus has a housing that is attachable to a part of a user's body and a rotatable flywheel assembly mounted to the housing. The rotatable flywheel assembly includes a rotatable flywheel, a prime mover arranged to rotate the flywheel about a flywheel rotation axis, and a gimbal to which the flywheel is attached. The gimbal is pivotally mounted to the housing at a hinge formed between the gimbal and the housing and defining a precession axis such that the flywheel can precess with respect to the housing about the precession axis. The precession axis is fixed relative to the housing. The tremor stabilization apparatus further includes a biasing member arranged to oppose precession of the rotatable flywheel assembly and urge the rotatable flywheel assembly to an equilibrium position.
APPARATUS FOR HAND TREMOR STABILISATION
An apparatus for hand tremor stabilization including a rotatable flywheel assembly mountable to a hand of a user. The rotatable flywheel assembly includes i) a flywheel having a flywheel mass, m, and a flywheel diameter, d, and ii) a prime mover adapted to rotate the flywheel at a rotational speed, r, about a flywheel rotation axis such that the rotatable flywheel assembly generates an angular momentum having a magnitude of between about 0.05 kgm2/s and about 0.30 kgm2/s.
Core trainer
A core training apparatus for the golf swing. A semicircular member is coupled with a support member, and a resistance member is connected to one of the coupling points. The resistance member is secured to a fixed point, and the user rotates the apparatus back and forth with the user standing at the center rotational axis of the semicircular member, with the resistance member being guided along the semicircular member. The back-and-forth rotation acts to increase and decrease tension on the resistance member thereby exercising the core of the user.
EXERCISE DEVICE INCORPORATING GYROSCOPIC INITIATED DYNAMIC RESISTANCE
Multiple embodiments of a portable, handheld exercise device comprise a spherical outer shell with multiple parallel handles on the outer surface thereof containing a rotating mass therein. An inner shell is spaced from but attached the outer shell. A gyroscopic energy-generating structure (GEGS) is within the inner shell. The GEGS comprises a rotating disc or a rotating mass simulating a rotating disc. The rotating disc or a mass is powered to spin around an axis orientated in a preselected orientation to the multiple parallel handles. When the one or more handles are held by an individual the spinning characteristics of the rotating disc or mass creates a force against the user's hands. An internal or external controller allows the user to vary the spinning characteristics of the spinning mass and the level and intensity of the resultant exercise provided to the user in counteracting the forces created.
Core Training Device and Method
The present invention provides an exercise device (100) for exercising core muscles of a user’s torso. The exercise device comprises a frame (110), configured to be supported by the user and a radially outwardly facing channel (130;
MEDICINE BALL AND METHOD OF OPERATING THEREOF
A medicine ball has a gyroscope housed inside a rotatable capsule, a user interface configured to receive a user input, a programmable controller, and a power source each communicatively coupled with the user interface. In operation, the power source supplies power to the gyroscope, the rotatable capsule, and the programmable controller in response to receiving the user input at the user interface. The programmable controller controls the movement of the gyroscope and the rotatable capsule in response to receiving the user input at the user interface.
Wrist exerciser
A wrist exerciser includes a housing and a gyroscopic member. The housing includes a first cover, a second cover, a supporting portion and a protective assembly. The supporting portion and the protective assembly are disposed between the first cover and the second cover. Two ends of the supporting portion that are opposite to each other are in contact with the first cover and the second cover, respectively. A stiffness of the supporting portion is greater than a stiffness of the protective assembly. The protective assembly includes a rail and a buffer portion that are corresponding to each other. The gyroscopic member includes a ring and a rotor. The ring is slidably disposed on the rail. The rotor includes a ball disposed in the housing and a shaft which penetrates the ball. Two ends of the shaft that are opposite to each other are pivotally connected to the ring.
UPPER-LIMB REHABILITATION ASSISTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
An upper-limb rehabilitation assisting device includes first and second handles coupled to first and second rotating shafts and rotationally operated by hands on a paralytic limb side and a healthy limb side; first and second biosignal detecting parts that detect first and second biosignals corresponding to the paralytic limb side and the healthy limb side; first and second drive parts that drive the first and second rotating shafts; and a control part that performs a cooperative control of the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft. The control part controls the torques of the first and second drive parts at the time of the cooperative control of the first and second rotating shafts the basis of the degree of cooperation between the first and second biosignals.
Wrist exerciser having a protective structure
A wrist exerciser including a housing and a gyroscopic member is disclosed. The housing has a rail and a buffer portion. The position of the buffer portion corresponds to the rail. The gyroscopic member is moveably disposed on the rail, and includes a ring and a rotor. The ring is located inside the housing and is slidably disposed on the rail. The rotor includes a ball and a shaft. The ball is located inside the housing. The shaft penetrates through the ball and the two opposite sides of the shaft are connected to the ring for the shaft to rotate relatively to the ring.
