System and methods for adjusting variable geometry, height, weight distribution dynamics in orthotic devices and equipment
An active suspension orthotic support system is disclosed. The suspension orthotic support system comprises at least one variable resistance beam extending from a heel section to a mid-arch section of the footwear, wherein rotation of the variable resistance beam from a first position to a second position causes a resistance provided by the variable resistance beam to vary between a minimum resistance to a maximum resistance.
Stretching belt for stretching of the spine
A stretching device for stretching and aligning a user's back may include a belt, optionally a gambrel and universal hook, and optionally a support system, such as a slotted door mount. The belt may be designed to wrap around the user's back and under the user's armpits, wherein the belt is a segmented belt having a plurality of raised segments spaced along a length of the belt. Rings may be attached to each end of the belt, wherein the rings may be designed to engage with a mounting device, such as the gambrel and universal hook.
GRIP THERAPY DEVICES AND REHABILITATION SYSTEMS
Hand grip therapy devices and systems for rehabilitation system for increasing the functionality and/or strength in a hand compromised by disease, injury, and the like. In one embodiment the hand grip therapy device includes a dodecahedron portion which is gripped by a hand having less functionality and a prism or paddle portion which is gripped by a hand having greater functionality, the device then being manipulated in a therapeutic manner using both hands.
MOTOR SKILL TRAINING DEVICE
A motor skill activity book for individuals having poor fine motor skills can be configured to be laid flat in an elongated fashion and to be closed into a compact rectangular prismatic form. Panels of the motor skill activity book can each include a face layer defining a cutout section, a backing layer, and at least one intermediate layer stacked between the face layer and the backing layer. The panels can be coupled via bindings such that the motor skill activity book can be configured between an open state in which the panels can lay flat such that the front face of each of the panels is substantially flush with the front faces of the other of the panels, and a closed state in which the panels stack on top of each other.
EXERCISE DEVICE WITH HANDGRIP ASSEMBLIES
The present disclosure relates to a modular strap-based exercise apparatus, kit, and method of use thereof, and more particularly to an apparatus, kit, and method for modularly connecting components of a strap-based exercise device. In an embodiment, the strap-based exercise apparatus includes one or more infinity loops configured to attach various portions of the exercise apparatus together. The exercise apparatus may be provided as a kit including an elongated member, a grip assembly, and one or more mechanisms for adjusting the length of a strap and connecting straps together.
Low friction rehabilitation board with an integral band retaining feature and methods of rehabilitation
A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. The rehabilitation board has a plurality of band retaining feature configured along one or both ends and may be an integral band retaining features being formed in the board. Additionally, the rehabilitation may include one or more band retaining features on one or both sides of the board. The unique configuration of the band retaining features enables rehabilitation method heretofore not possible with a single board. Resistance bands may be retained in the band retaining features and coupled to a user's limb, such as a foot or ankle, to resist motion, such as sliding or extending the foot along the low friction surface of the rehabilitation board.
Fitness Device And Exercise Method For Generating Opposing Muscle Resistance
A fitness device contains a strap, a handle, and a plate. The strap is substantially inelastic and flexible. The plate is substantially rigid. The handle at least partially envelopes the strap. A method of exercising with such a fitness device is also described herein. Other fitness devices and other methods of use are also described herein.
Methods of adjusting stiffness and flexibility in devices, apparatus and equipment
A resilient rod that provides adjustable directional resistance is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod and a position of an applied force with respect to a fulcrum point. In another aspect of the invention, at least one spine may be attached to the beam to increase a diameter of the beam along one axis. The resistance level may be determined based on the thickness of the rod, the position of the applied force and an orientation of the at least one spine with regard to the direction of the applied force. In other aspects of the invention, the resilient rods may be incorporated into a golf club that provides for adjustable resistance levels.
Towel stretching assembly for stretching exercises
There is accordingly provided a flexible sheet assembly for stretching exercises. The assembly has a longitudinal axis. The assembly includes an elongate flexible sheet having a pair of spaced-apart longitudinally extending sides. The sheet has a pair of spaced-apart ends that extend between the sides. The sheet has a first longitudinal portion extending from a first one of the ends towards a second one of the ends. The sheet has a second longitudinal portion extending from the second one of the ends towards the first one of the ends. At least a first one of the longitudinal portions of the sheet has an aperture extending therethrough. Portions of the first one of the longitudinal portions of the sheet adjacent to the aperture are curved.
FITNESS SYSTEM, FITNESS ASSEMBLY ARRANGEMENT AND FUNCTIONAL FITNESS ELEMENTS
A suspension training based functional fitness element (11, 31) comprising: an essentially planar element (22) having an upper edge, a lower edge and two side edges, said planar element (22) being designed to form a pivotable connection to a support element (32) along said upper edge of the planar element (22), a first elongated element (23, 32, 52) connected to said planar clement (22) at a first connection point at said lower edge of the planar element (22), a second elongated element (23, 32, 52) connected to said planar element (22) at a second connection point at said lower edge of the planar element (22), and a first and second handle (24), said first and second handle (24) being connected to said first and second elongated elements (23) respectively, whereby that said first and second connection points are arranged such that there is a horizontal offset between the first and second connection points and such that there is a vertical offset between the first connection point and the pivotable connection and a vertical offset between the second connection point and the pivotable connection.
