The single-layered construction can include a first fabric layer. The multi-layered construction can include the first fabric layer, a second fabric layer, and a resistance-providing layer in-between the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer. The resistance-training system also includes a lower-body garment having the multi-layered construction, optionally with a different resistance-providing layer than the upper-body garment. The resistance-providing layer of the upper-body garment and the lower-body garment can be configured to provide resistance to one or more user movements for a user donning the resistance-training system.

By using angle controllers on the legs, various modes such as advancing, variable-speed advancing, retreating, turning, and in-situ spinning can be implemented.

The portable monitoring device including: 1) a set of one or more sensors to generate sensor data indicative of physical activity of a user when the portable monitoring device is affixed to the user; and 2) processing circuitry coupled with the set of sensors, to detect that the user has been sedentary for a period of time, and cause the portable monitoring device to alert the user responsive to the detection to encourage the user to move.

A system and methods for custom-fitting golf clubs and golf club components is disclosed. Data is generated by a tracking device as a plurality of golf swings are performed by an individual. The data comprises motion and orientation information associated with a golf ball and with a golf club. The data is displayed using a graphical user interface. A plurality of shot characteristics is determined from the data. The shot characteristics are used to recommend golf clubs and golf club components that adjust a golfer's swing where the golfer exhibits the plurality of shot characteristics.

Methods, systems and devices for linking devices to tracking devices are provided. One method includes scanning, by an activity tracking device, for a semi-unique identifier broadcasted by a device. The method connects the device with the activity tracking device after the semi-unique identifier is found to be of the device by the activity tracking device. The activity tracking device is configured to communicate with the device to obtain device identification (ID) of the device. The method then automatically links the device to the activity tracking device when the device ID of the device matches a copy of the device ID stored in the activity tracking device. In one example, the tracking devices operate as a master and the devices operate as a slave.
