SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATEDLY DETECTING AND REJECTING CORES HAVING A NON-CONFORMING CORE COLOR PRIOR TO COVERING
Automated system and method wherein the color of each core is detected and distinguished before the core is covered, and any core having a non-conforming core color is rejected and released/removed/eliminated from further processing.

GOLF BALL
The present invention provides a golf ball in which at least one intermediate layer is formed between a core and a cover, wherein an L value (brightness) of the core is not more than 85 in a Lab display based on JIS Z 8722, an L value (brightness) of a sphere (intermediate layer-encased sphere) obtained by encasing the core with the intermediate layer is at least 75 in the Lab display based on JIS Z 8722, a total light transmittance of the intermediate layer at a thickness of 1.0 mm is 1 to 50%, and a color difference ?E between the core and the intermediate layer-encased sphere is at least 10.
GOLF BALL ALIGNMENT AID AND METHOD OF FORMING SAME
A golf ball and a method of forming a golf ball is disclosed herein. The golf ball includes an alignment aid or feature that is integrally formed with a core body of the golf ball. A cover is provided that allows the alignment aid to be visible from an exterior of the golf ball. The alignment aid can be formed as central spherical segment that fuses two spherical cap portions with each other to form the core body. Different material selections can be made for the spherical cap portions and the central spherical segment that can further provide variation in performance characteristics of the golf ball.
GOLF BALL HAVING MATTE SURFACE WITH IMPROVED VISIBILITY
Provided is a golf ball having a matte surface with improved visibility. Since the golf ball has a matte surface in comparison with a golf ball having a glossy surface of the related art, the golf ball has an advantage of preventing the golfer from being dazzled caused by reflection of a dimple surface. Since the golf ball has a relatively high luminance value in comparison with a golf ball having a matte surface of the related art, the golf ball has an advantage of being seen to be larger. Since the amount of light remaining in a dimple cover is increased, fluorescent characteristics of a fluorescent material is improved, so that beautiful colors and improved visibility can be achieved. Therefore, it is possible to improve golfers' performance.

GOLF BALL COMPONENT HAVING MULTIPLE COLOR CONCENTRATE ADDITIVES
A golf ball component and method of forming the same is disclosed herein. The golf ball component includes color concentrate additives having different colors and different material properties, such as melt flow indices or Mooney viscosities. The golf ball component features a unique pattern or visual appearance based on the inclusion of the dissimilar color concentrate additives.
