A hole location updating device and a method for operating a hole location updating device are provided. The hole location updating device having a housing including a flagpole combiner for providing a combination with a flagpole, includes: a global positioning system (GPS) circuit for detecting a GPS position of a hole; a mobile communication circuit for providing access to a server through a mobile communication network; and a control circuit operable in a power blocking mode, escaping from the power blocking mode in response to a wakeup signal to update a hole location, and entering the power blocking mode.

An article of manufacture for providing an adjustable tee marker according to the present invention is an adjustable tee marker having a tee marker body having a front side, top side, and a rear side, a yardage display positioned on the front side of the tee marker body, the yardage display shows a plurality of numerical digits corresponding to a yardage distance from the adjustable tee marker to a specified location on golf course hole, a location name display positioned on the front side of the tee marker body, the location name display shows one of a plurality of changeable location names corresponding to the specified location on golf course hole, and an installation spike coupled to the tee marker body. A mechanism/winder accessible using a key may be inserted into the tee marker body. The mechanism/winder rotates when the key inserted into the tee marker body is rotated causing the location name display to change the changeable location name seen in the location name display.

A golf tee box marker device includes a base having a planar front surface, a steel plate secured to the planar front surface and having a first polarity, and an advertising panel comprised of a flexible material and having a second polarity. The advertising panel is removably secured to the steel plate using magnetic forces. At least one support extends from a lower portion of the base and is threaded into a lower portion of the base and configured to be pushed into a ground surface using a sharpened edge until the lower portion of the base is substantially flush to the ground surface. The base may be at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the pair of supports causing the advertising panel to be tilted upwards.

The recording device is capable of recording at least a portion of the tee box and at least a portion of the green where the hole is located. The activation device causes the recording device to be activated. The storage device receives the recording of at least the portion of the tee box and at least the portion of the green where the hole is located. A hole-in-one reward claim device that when activated causes review of the recording of at least the portion of the tee box and at least the portion of the green where the hole is located to verify the hole-in-one.

Included are systems and methods for providing data. At least one embodiment of a method includes constructing, by a computing device, a segment line on a computer display of an image of a golf course, the segment line being constructed from a tee box on a golf hole to a green on the golf hole, the segment line bisecting a fairway of the hole; determining at least one lay up position on the segment line, the at least one lay up position indicating a predetermined distance from the green; and providing the at least one lay up position to a user device, the user device configured to determine a distance between the user device and the lay up position.

A golf flagstick-mounted system to film and record golf ball tee off and flight is provided. The system comprises a mobile device located at a tee box of a golf hole of a golf course and a wireless receiver located at the tee box area. The system also comprises a camera mounted on a flagstick of the golf hole that activates based on an instruction received from the mobile device and wirelessly determines location of the receiver. Based on determined location of the receiver, the camera captures video content of striking of golf ball from the tee box area and subsequent flight of the ball and wirelessly transmits the captured video content to the mobile device. The mobile device hosts an application that is invoked to send the instruction to the camera. The camera is mounted on a swivel arm proximate a top area of the flagstick below a flag.
