BASEBALL/SOFTBALL TRAINING DEVICE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20230048415 · 2023-02-16 ·

A swing training device for improving the proper swing of ball sports including but not limited to baseball and softball. The swing training device has an elongated barrel having a substantially quasi-stadium cross-sectional shape connected to a handle portion. The hitting surface of the barrel is one of the two opposing curved surfaces of the circular segments of the quasi-stadium cross-sectional shape. The swing training device may be a modified regulation wood bat that is modified via diametrically opposing longitudinal tangential section cuts so that the un-cut curved hitting surface is oriented such that the grain runs against the ball at contact.

SMART CRICKET BAT AND PROCESS OF FABRICATION OF THE SAME
20220314086 · 2022-10-06 ·

A smart cricket bat and a process of fabrication of the same is disclosed. The cricket bat includes an electronic system includes a plurality of sensors with sensor fusion to remove bias in sensed data. The plurality of sensors measure accurate data representative of rate of change of velocity, angular speed, orientation of the smart cricket bat, pressure exerted on the smart cricket bat by a ball, a pressure exerted on the handle unit by a hand grip of the batsman during swing of the smart cricket bat and one or more audio signals. The electronic system also includes a processing unit configured to process sensed data to calculate one or more metrics associated with batting. The electronic system also includes a transceiver unit configured to transmit one or more calculated metrics to a user's computing device.

TRAINING BAT
20230173364 · 2023-06-08 ·

A bat configured to improve batting skills during practice and training. The bat includes a body extending between first and second ends of the bat and including opposed first and second ball-contacting surfaces and first and second cutout portions of the bat body formed along a length thereof and forming a wedge therebetween. The wedge extends between the first and second ball-contacting surfaces. The cutout portions include respective flat machined surfaces forming opposing sides of the wedge. The bat body defines a longitudinal axis, and the wedge is formed such that the flat machined surfaces each form an acute angle with an imaginary reference line that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

A ball striking training device for training a user to strike a ball includes a bat. A recess is positioned in a front of the bat distal from a handle of the bat. A plurality of inserts is selectively couplable to the bat within the recess. A respective insert is positionable within the recess with a front face of the respective insert positioned proximate to the front of the bat. Each insert is selectively couplable to the bat such that a respective front face of the insert is positioned proximate to the front of the bat. The handle is configured to be grasped in the hands of a user, such that the insert is configured to strike a ball with the respective front face of the insert.
