Releasable boot and binding assembly for various sports
Provided herein are various embodiments for a boot for releasable engagement with a binding having a downwardly facing ledge and a toe strap. The boot preferably contains a sole, a toe portion, and a heel portion. The boot preferably also contains a heel retaining device extending rearwardly from the heel portion of the boot and having an upwardly facing engagement surface at the top of the device which engages with the downwardly facing ledge of the binding to prevent vertical movement of the boot relative to the binding while allowing forward horizontal movement of the boot relative to the binding.

Ankle and toe straps for splitboard and snowboard bindings
Disclosed is a novel ankle strap and a toe strap that secures snowboard or splitboard rider's boots to corresponding boot bindings. The straps are generally made from a one-piece molding that includes indented portions on the outside surface of the molding that creates corresponding outdented portions on the boot-facing surface for cushioning. The indented portions are bound by ribs, the ribs forming a continuous interconnected rib structure. As the outdented portions flex, the continuous interconnected rib structure helps the strap maintain its shape and structure.
Splitboard binding system with side mounting locking touring bracket
Splitboard binding systems including a binding that may be attached to either a left or right gliding board in a ski mode or to both gliding boards in a snowboard mode. The binding includes left and right bottom rails attached to the bottom surface of a base plate, which define channels for slidable attachment to “pucks” disposed on the gliding board in snowboard mode. Each rail has a circular bore at a forward end for attachment to a counterpart pivot pin on a ski mode toe bracket in a ski mode by a sideways movement. A securing lever is disposed on an upper surface of the toe bracket. When the securing lever is rotated into a securing position, an end of the securing lever prevents removal of the pivot pin from the rail bore. Rotating the securing lever to a removal position allows the binding to be removed.

The present invention relates to a snowboard binding for coupling a snowboard shoe to a snowboard, comprising a baseplate, which is designed to be attached by means of a fastening device to a snowboard and to sit flat against same, a highback, which extends substantially perpendicularly to the baseplate, a toe strap, and an instep strap. The snowboard binding according to the invention is formed in two parts, wherein the baseplate and the toe strap are associated with a first module and the highback and the instep strap are associated with a second module. A coupling unit is provided, by means of which the first module and the second module can be releasably coupled to one another, the first module being designed to remain on the snowboard in a decoupled state and the second module being designed to remain on the snowboard shoe in the decoupled state.
