Releasable boot and binding assembly for various sports
Provided herein are various embodiments for a boot for releasable engagement with a binding having a downwardly facing ledge and a toe strap. The boot preferably contains a sole, a toe portion, and a heel portion. The boot preferably also contains a heel retaining device extending rearwardly from the heel portion of the boot and having an upwardly facing engagement surface at the top of the device which engages with the downwardly facing ledge of the binding to prevent vertical movement of the boot relative to the binding while allowing forward horizontal movement of the boot relative to the binding.
Snowboard Combination Boot and Binding System.
The present invention contemplates a binding system for a snowboards and the like. The system includes a soft-soled boot having a hardened exterior shell consisting of a toe portion and a heel portion, which are linked by at least one sidewall portion. The toe and heel portions include two toe and two heel pegs respectively. The boot includes an instep portion having instep cables for adjusting the boot to the wearer and the cables are adjusted by grommets and tightened in position by at least one resting bar. The binding has a base plate for connecting to the snowboard. The base plate further supports a pair of toe hooks adapted to engage the toe pegs and a pair of heel peg levers adapted to releasably engage the heel pegs of the boot. A grappling hook and ratchet mechanism grabs the resting bar on the boot.
Coupling assembly between a footwear and a sport equipment such as a ski or a snowboard
Coupling assembly between a footwear and a sport equipment comprising at least one housing on the footwear near the sole suitable for receiving a first metallic element, a binding, on the sport equipment, provided with a seat for the insertion of the footwear, the binding being equipped with at least a second metallic element positioned in the seat, the first or the second metal element being an electromagnet, which when activated is magnetically bound to the other element.
Snowboard binding and boot
A snowboard boot and binding system is disclosed which facilitates the engagement and disengagement of a snowboard boot and binding. The snowboard boot may include a boot engagement member extending from a rear of the boot. The boot engagement member is moved downwardly into a corresponding binding engagement member to provide an arrangement which prevents forward movement of the boot. The boot engagement member also may include one or more serrations to engage with one or more pawls on the binding to prevent upward movement of the boot. A snap-in arrangement may be provided in a boot toe region. The boot has protrusions extending outwardly from each side of the boot to engage with catches on the binding sidewalls. As the boot is pressed downwardly into the binding, the protrusions splay the catches until reaching recesses, at which point the catches rebound to capture the protrusions against upward movement.
Step-in snowboard binding
There is provided herein and improved step in binding having a body and a footplate pivotally coupled therein at the front. A levered high back exposes load arms which are interfaced to the pivotable footplate by way of linkages. When the footplate is depressed, the linkages transition horizontally, thereby increasing rearward force and therefore leverage on the backplate, until substantially horizontally engaged. At this orientation, the linkages experiences little or no vertical vector component thereby preventing inadvertent unbinding.
Apparatus for gliding over snow
An apparatus for gliding over snow is disclosed. The apparatus comprises at least two decks coupled via a swivel arm. Each deck comprises a strap to receive a foot of a user, and a board coupled to the deck via a connector. The user stands on the decks to create swivel-motion with the help of the swivel arm. The swivel-motion created at the deck is transferred to the connector and to the board to create forward momentum and glide the board over the snow.
