AUTOMATIC RETENTION APPARATUS

An apparatus for automatically adjusting tension on retention member to hold multiple objects together. Examples include using retention apparatus to obtain optimal fit and use of a human wearable item such as article of footwear. Sensors may be used to sense changes in movement of the article of footwear, of the person wearing it, or of a third object such as a vehicle carrying the person. A retention member may surround at least a portion of the objects, and an actuator may be included that automatically rotates a rotating member such as a gear or pulley that may be coupled to the retention member. The rotating member may be configured to automatically adjust tension on the retention member many times per second based on control signals from control logic responsive to the sensors.

Method and Apparatus for Reducing Body Stress Typically Experienced by a Snowboarder While on a Chairlift
20230022873 · 2023-01-26 ·

A Method and apparatus for reducing stress on the body (e.g., foot, ankle, hip, spine) of a snowboarder while sitting on a chairlift. The apparatus includes a boot binding assembly adapted for mounting on the top surface of a snowboard including a boot retention member hinged for movement between a dosed position and an open position. For typical downhill snowboarding activity, a user will place the retention member in the closed position to orient the sole of the user's boot substantially parallel, i.e. against the snowboard top surface. For sitting on a chairlift, the user will place the retention member in the open position so as to allow the snowboard to pivot around the hinge and hang substantially vertically from the retention member thus avoiding stressful torques on the user's supporting limb.

A support assembly for use with snow sports boards includes a base configured to be attached to the snow sports board. A frame has a first portion extending downward and a second portion extending rearward from the first portion. A seat is mounted on the second portion of the frame. A shock absorber extends between the base and the first portion of the frame. During use, the support assembly is configured to support a rider sitting on the seat in a face-forward position with the rider's knees vertically below and forward of the rider's hips.

Fixation of binding board to splitboard skis
11583753 · 2023-02-21 ·

Systems and methods for fixing a binding board to skis that are removably connected together to form of a splitboard are described herein. In some cases, the described systems use a sliding and removable setting of bearing pins in eyes that are formed on adjacent areas of the board and a clamp that is fixed to the skis. The essence of the invention is a fixation of lateral parts of the eyes by stoppers which partially overreach into cross sections of the eyes. A diameter of the bearing pins basically corresponds with a diameter of the eyes. The bearing pins are equipped with circular recesses for engaging with the stoppers and also with end parts that each have a truncated conical tip.

Ski pole retention and storage apparatus

The preferred embodiment of an apparatus for ski pole retention and storage is provided. A proximal half of a cuboid bracket embodied in a U-shape is substantially connected, via a hinge, to a distal half of a cuboid bracket embodying the same characteristics. Both the proximal and distal halves are secured with a binding strap and ratchet located on the plane opposite the hinge. The preferred embodiment also comprises of elastic straps that bias the apparatus to an open position. A binding strap is substantially fixed to said proximal half and said binding ratchet is substantially fixed to said distal half. Both the proximal and distal halves of the cuboid bracket have interior surfaces to which high-density foam is substantially connected. The exterior surface of the proximal half of the cuboid bracket comprises a second mechanism by which it attaches the body of the apparatus to a rigid surface.

SET OF COUPLING ASSEMBLIES FOR A BOARD FOR BOARD SPORTS
20230103277 · 2023-03-30 ·

The present invention relates to a set of coupling assemblies comprising a right coupling assembly and a left coupling assembly being configured to be mounted on aboard for board sports and to receive respectively a right boot and a left boot, wherein the right and left coupling assembly comprise an inner receiving unit and outer receiving unit, wherein each inner receiving unit comprises a locking arm which is pivotable about a main inner pivot axis from a locked position to a released position and vice versa, wherein each inner receiving unit comprises a pull mechanism comprising:—at least one elongate interlink member which extends between the two inner receiving units, and—a link pull member configured to engage the boot or the inner boot coupling part and to receive a pull force from the boot or boot coupling part when the boot or boot coupling part is no longer held by the coupling assembly and moves away from the coupling assembly, and to be pulled over a pull distance by said boot or by the boot coupling part, wherein the pull mechanism is configured to transfer the pull force and the pull distance to the at least one elongate interlink member, and to convert the pull distance in an interlink pull distance of the elongate interlink member, and wherein said interlink pull distance pivots the locking arm of the other coupling assembly from the locking position to the released position, thereby releasing the other boot.
