Self-propelled vehicle

A personal self-propelled vehicle for travelling on snow using ski comprises a closed-loop flexible ribbon configured to envelope the ski over its length so as to pass under at least a portion of a sliding surface, two rollers and configured for installation on longitudinally opposite ends of the ski and to interact with the ribbon. The roller is a driving roller and is engaged with a motor comprising a control means and with the ribbon to transfer force for translational movement thereof. The roller is a guiding roller. The ribbon canvas has multiple via openings divided by webs and substantially constitutes a lattice. Dimensions and positions of the openings and parameters of the webs between them are selected so the sliding surface of the ski abuts on snow through the openings during motion of the vehicle, while the webs sink in snow under load of the vehicle bearing the user and provide repulsion from snow packed by the ski, thus assuring the ski sliding in longitudinal direction.

DETACHABLE TRACKED UNIT FOR POWERING SNOWBOARDS

Detachable propelling apparatus to be fastened to a snowboard in order to propel it uphill. Said apparatus is equipped with foldable or removable tracks, being these tracks powered by either an engine, or a motor or a turbine. The apparatus is integral with an apt adjustable attachment plate, that is directly fastenable to the feet rests (boots attachments) holes of the snowboard. The invention is completed by a rucksack for transporting tracks and batteries, with an opportune frame for protecting the back of the wearer in case of fall and a remote control, in case equipped with movement sensors. The invention is a solution for the technical problem of powering a snowboard limiting the impact of such fixture on the snowboard itself.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MOTORIZED TRACTION DEVICE TO ASSIST ALPINE TOURING SNOW SPORT EQUIPMENT MOVEMENT

The present disclosure comprises a novel system that attaches to skis in an alpine touring setup and provides electric, battery powered, motorized traction that assists the skier when traveling uphill or horizontal on snow. In one embodiment, the devices removably attach to the ski near the tail and have a cylindrical traction surface that sits below the ski near the tail. The traction surface is powered by an electric hub motor which engages, either with initiation of forward movement, input from sensors, or a set programmed cadence, thereby assisting the user's moving, unweighted ski forward until the completion of that step. Once arrived at the desired destination, or when downhill travel is warranted, the user removes and stores the devices from each ski and proceeds downhill.

The present disclosure provides an approach to propelling an activity board. The approach involves, for example, a propulsion device comprising a driver transitionable between a first position and a second position, a motor operatively connected to the driver, and a power source operatively connected to the motor. The driver, when in the first position, is above a plane of an activity board and when in the second position, is below the plane of the activity board. A mount may apply a force to the driver. The approach also involves, for example, an activity board comprising a mount coupled to the activity board, a driver connected to the mount, the driver driven by a motor, and a power source operatively connected to the motor. The activity board comprises a top surface and a bottom surface configured to traverse a terrestrial surface. The driver is transitionable between a first position and a second position and, when in the first position, is located above the bottom surface, and, when in the second position, is located below the bottom surface. The approach further involves, for example, a method for propelling an activity board comprising transitioning a driver from a first position to a second position characterized by the driver engaging a terrestrial surface and actuating a motor operatively connected to the driver, the motor coupled to the activity board via a mount. The motor is powered by a power source mounted to the activity board.

Torque stick apparatus and methods of use

A torque stick apparatus for driving a personal transporter across a transport surface by positioning the torque stick apparatus against a drive surface is described. The torque stick apparatus includes a tubular housing, throttle control, battery pack, motor coupled to a wheel, and motor controller. The motor controller is coupled to the motor, the battery pack, and the throttle control. The motor controller determines whether to select regenerative braking mode based at least in part on the position of the throttle control. The motor controller supplies power from the battery pack to the motor in accordance with the throttle control when regenerative braking mode is not selected. The motor controller provides power from the motor to the battery pack when regenerative braking is selected. The battery pack and the motor controller are contained within the housing.
