This application relates to a method for controlling a virtual character performed by a computer device, the method including: displaying at least a portion of a target virtual character in a virtual scene, the target virtual character being bound with basic bones and deformed bones; triggering the character action of the target virtual character in the virtual scene; when the character action comprises a character movement, controlling the target virtual character to implement the character movement in the virtual scene through a movement of a basic bone associated with the character movement; and when the character action comprises a local character deformation, controlling the target virtual character to implement the local character deformation in the virtual scene through a deformation of a deformed bone associated with the local character deformation.

Systems and methods to provide in-game consequences for unique digital articles, the in-game consequences being based on real-world information, are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may execute instances of a game; manage player accounts associated with the players, including a first and a second player account associated with a first and a second player; record player-configurable sensitivity of player-owned unique digital articles to be exposed to in-game consequences of either receiving distributions of benefits or losing stakes; determine real-world information based on events that have occurred in the real world; evaluate whether to distribute the benefits or seize the stakes, based on the real-world information; and either provide the distributions of benefits or seize the stakes accordingly.

This application discloses a method and apparatus for rendering weather in a virtual environment, a device, a medium and a program, belonging to the art of image processing. The method includes the following steps: acquiring at least one weather map of a weather scene in a virtual environment (201); removing a first weather map from the at least one weather map to obtain a remaining second weather map (202); and rendering the weather scene in the virtual environment according to the second weather map (203). This method reduces the frequency of map sampling by reducing the number of weather maps, and improves the performance of a terminal when running an application program supporting the virtual environment.

The method includes acquiring a plurality of landscape layer types comprised in the target landscape area to be displayed and determining a type weight corresponding to each landscape layer type in the plurality of landscape layer types; screening at least one target landscape layer type with a corresponding type weight which satisfies a condition from the plurality of landscape layer types, and acquiring an index value of a landscape layer corresponding to each of the screened at least one target landscape layer type; and sequentially storing the index value in each image color channel of the landscape layer index map to obtain the landscape layer index map corresponding to the target landscape area to be displayed.
