The slot is dimensioned to receive a box lid wall up to a depth of approximately 3″ and having a thickness of approximately 0.2″. The slot is recessed across a front portion of the holder device to accommodate box lids of any size. Users can maintain hands-free operation of the box lid while having the puzzle illustration visually available to the user allowing the user to more easily and enjoyably complete the puzzle.
