STORYTELLING ENVIRONMENT: MAPPING VIRTUAL SETTINGS TO PHYSICAL LOCATIONS

A method, computer-readable medium, and system are disclosed for an interactive storytelling environment. The method comprises identifying a plurality of storytelling devices available to participate in a storytelling experience, at least one of the plurality of the storytelling devices comprising a first beacon device. The method further comprises beginning playback of a first story of the storytelling experience, the first story comprising a first plurality of predetermined actions associated with a predetermined first virtual setting, the first virtual setting mapped to the first beacon device. The method further comprises determining a location of a user using the first beacon device, and during playback of the first story and using at least one of the plurality of storytelling devices, producing one or more of the at least one audiovisual effect corresponding to the first virtual setting based on the determined location of the user.

On-board audio system for a model vehicle

A realistic simulation of the dynamic sounds of a full-sized vehicle are created on a moving R/C Scale Model. A mounting apparatus supports an audio exciter in a model vehicle without any modification to the exciter. A full range of volume of sound may be produced by the exciter without limiting the range of movement of the exciter as volume is increased or decreased. The apparatus may limit the mechanical excursion of the exciter to prevent physical damage to the exciter. The present invention also provides a method and apparatus for operating the audio exciter in a model vehicle.

MODEL VEHICLE STATE DETECTION AND DETERMINATION METHOD AND SYSTEM

A method of determining a state of a model vehicle using an electric motor is provided. During a sample period, the method may include measuring raw variables, including determining a first and a second voltage relative to a battery ground. Further, the method may include extracting state variables from the first and second voltages. The measuring of the raw variables may be repeated until the end of the sample period. The method may also include determining a tentative state from the state variables. Still further, the method may include setting a model vehicle state equal to a tentative state if the tentative state is equal to a previous tentative state. Still further including actuating a model vehicle component based upon the model vehicle state and setting the previous tentative state equal to the tentative state. Additionally, the method may include repeating the process for another sample period.
