A system and method is provided for monitoring and controlling a load disposed at least partially within a model vehicle. Preferred embodiments of the present invention operate in accordance with a load car that includes a load, a motor, and a controller for operating the motor to raise and lower the load. In one embodiment, the controller is configured to monitor at least one metric (e.g., a coal level) and to operate the motor so that the vertical position of the load (e.g., a coal load) is synchronized to the metric. If the metric goes up, then the load is moved (e.g., via the motor) in an upward direction. Alternatively, if the metric goes down, then the load is moved (e.g., via the motor) in a downward direction.

The modular toy may also include a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen mounted on a first carriage of the plurality of carriages. The modular toy may further include a bubble-generation mechanism installed on the first carriage, a container disposed on a second carriage of the plurality of carriages that is attached to the first carriage, and a robotic arm mounted on a third carriage of the plurality of carriages that is attached to the second carriage.

A model car includes an attachment member that holds a polishing film, a holding member that rotatably holds the attachment member, and an eccentric mechanism which is able to eccentrically move the attachment member. When the eccentric mechanism penetrates a floor plate of the model car and is held on the floor plate to be movable up and down, the model car is able to be self-propelled while not bearing any weight of the attachment member, the holding member, and the eccentric mechanism in a state in which the polishing film contacts the surface of the model rail.
