Realistic illumination of a character for a scene
A system for illuminating a character for a scene includes a computing platform communicatively coupled to a lighting source and a camera, the computing platform including a hardware processor and a system memory storing a software code. The hardware processor executes the software code to identify a background for the scene, generate, using the lighting source, a simulation of the background on a surface illuminated by the lighting source, and utilize the simulation of the background generated on the surface illuminated by the lighting source to illuminate the character for the scene. The hardware processor also executes the software code to track, using the camera, a plurality of parameters of the camera during recording of an image of the illuminated character and the simulation of the background, and to remove the simulation of the background from the image based on the plurality of parameters of the camera.
Background imagery for enhanced pepper's ghost illusion
Systems and methods herein are directed to providing a visual effect background that may be added behind a transparent holographic projection screen (e.g., of a Pepper's Ghost Illusion system) that provides for greater scenic depth behind the holographic projection, regardless of the amount of actual physical space behind the transparent screen. The background, which may be used for projection-based holographic projections or video panel display projections, generally establishes an optical illusion of depth behind the holographic images (producing a depth perception or “perspective” that gives a greater appearance of depth or distance behind a holographic projection).
CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PORTABLE HOLOGRAPHIC DEVICE
Utility model patent consisting of a structure (1) made of specific materials assembled so as to allow a proper view of the holographic content in its interior, in such a manner that the structure (1) has two parts: a lit up stage (2), the lights of which are powered by portable batteries, and a stage cover, inside of which there is an flat acetate sheet (3) in a specific angle so that the holographic contents, treated by the software, are displayed mid-air for those who use such device; when the software (app) starts up, users may choose the contents they desire to watch and then put the cell phone (4) within the structure of the portable holographic device (1), through an opening (5), in an area called projection pool, so that the digital content displayed on the cell phone interacts with the sheet creating holographic images.
DECORATIVE LIGHTS AND RELATED METHODS
A decorative light can include: a housing defining an interior space and having an open front; a cover mounted to the open front of the housing, the cover including a beam-splitter light lens shade and a substantially planar lens portion disposed around the beam-splitter light lens shade; a motor located in the interior space of the housing, the motor including an output shaft; a first light module located in the interior space and including first light units disposed about the output shaft of the motor, where the output shaft is rotatable with respect to the first light units; a second light module located in the interior space and including second light units disposed about the output shaft of the motor, wherein the output shaft is rotatable with respect to the second light units; and a rotating lens module connected to the output shaft of the motor for rotation.
Holographic Multimedia Presentation and Projector
A method for creating a holographic multimedia presentation and a system for projecting the presentation. A multimedia presentation is created by simultaneously projecting 4 rotated identical images from the screen of a flat panel mobile handheld device such as a phone or tablet to a focal location within an inverted, 4-sided pyramid-shaped holographic image projector. The inverted, 4-sided pyramid-shaped holographic image projector is formed out of transparent, semi-rigid acrylic or other plastic or glass, and the four triangular sides are joined with a live hinge, also made of transparent material, such that the projector can be stored and transported in a flat, folded configuration and can be used for viewing holographic multimedia video presentations when in a folded position.
Display method, apparatus and system
A cone for use in a Pepper's Ghost illusion includes a conical wall of semi-reflective material, and an attachment member for removably attaching the cone to the surface of a light emissive display, and a method of displaying a Pepper's Ghost illusion includes positioning a cone of semi-reflective material onto a light emissive display; and displaying on the light emissive display an image that has been distorted by an inverse of a distortion caused by a reflection of the cone.

Dunnage conversion machine and method
A dunnage conversion machine (36) converts a sheet stock material into a dunnage product that is relatively thicker and less dense than the stock material, but is relatively thin and sufficiently flexible to function as a protective wrap. The conversion machine includes a feed mechanism (40) that advances a sheet stock material therethrough and a connecting mechanism (42) downstream of the feed mechanism. The connecting mechanism retards the passage of the sheet stock material therethrough by feeding the stock material therethrough at a slower rate than the feed mechanism feeds the stock material to the connecting mechanism. This causes the stock material to randomly crumple in a longitudinal space between the feed mechanism and the connecting mechanism. The connecting mechanism connects multiple overlapping layers of sheet stock material together as they pass therethrough, including connecting at least one crumpled sheet to one side of one other sheet.
CORRELATIVE EFFECT AUGMENTED REALITY SYSTEM AND METHOD
An augmented reality system includes a first scene and a second scene. Further, the augmented reality system includes a partially reflective surface positioned relative to the first scene, the second scene, and an audience to facilitate viewing of one of the first scene or the second scene through the partially reflective surface and to facilitate reflection of the other of the first scene or the second scene toward the audience as augmented reality imagery. A sensor of the augmented reality system is designed to detect and generate data indicative of a characteristic of the first scene, and a correlative effect system is operable to receive the data and adjust the second scene based thereon.
SHOW EFFECT SYSTEM FOR ATTRACTION SYSTEM
An attraction system of an amusement park includes a viewing area, a virtual area, a beam splitter positioned to enable visibility of a portion of the viewing area through the beam splitter and visibility of a portion of the virtual area via reflection off the beam splitter, and a controller. The controller is configured to generate image data based on a distortive parameter associated with a first element disposed in the viewing area and transmit the image data to cause display of a second element in the virtual area. The distortive parameter is indicative of a distortion of an appearance of an object visible through the first element.
