Ultrasonic-microwave synergistic extraction method of total saponins in beautiful millettia root

The present disclosure provides an ultrasonic-microwave synergistic extraction method of total saponins in beautiful millettia root, comprising the following steps: S1, material treatment, S2, cold soaking, S3 enzymatic hydrolysis, S4 extract extraction, and S5 ultrasonic-microwave synergistic extraction. The extraction method of the present disclosure extracts relatively high content of total saponins, and has relatively high yield of saponins and low content of impurities, and each step acts synergistically to solve the problems of relatively low total saponin content, more impumayrities and bubbling in the extraction process.

Compound extraction from plant based material utilizing terepene saturant

A method for extracting compounds from plant material utilizing terpenes as a solvent is described. The invention includes the excitation of the plant material and terpene solvent with microwave, ultrasound, heat input, and physical agitation or combinations thereof. The invention particularly covers the process as it relates to the extraction of THC and CBD and their derivatives from cannabis and hemp for the use in products for medical and recreational use. The combinations of terpene saturant, plant material strain and process variables can be tuned in order to dial in the final resultant product for several variables including but not limited to terpene content, THC or CBD potency, ratios of THC or CBD and their derivatives, or flavor profile.

Remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil by asymmetrical alternating current electrochemistry

Soil contamination by heavy metals constitutes an important environmental problem, whereas field applicability of existing remediation technologies has encountered numerous obstacles, such as long operation time, high chemical cost, large energy consumption, secondary pollution, and soil degradation. A design and demonstration of a method is provided which is based on asymmetrical alternating current electrochemistry (AACE) that achieves high degrees of contaminant removal for different heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Cd) at different initial concentrations (from 100 to 10,000 ppm), all reaching corresponding regulation levels for residential scenario after rational treatment time (from 30 min to 6 h). No excessive nutrient loss in treated soil was observed and no secondary toxic product was produced. Long-term experiment and plant assay showed the high sustainability of the method and its feasibility for agricultural use.

Methods for extracting and encapsulating phenolics from food waste, related compositions, and related articles

The disclosed articles, apparatus, methods, and compositions provide for the integration of different and environmentally-friendly processes for extraction, stabilization, and formulation of active compounds with health and/or other benefits from lignocellulosic by-products of food processes. The active compounds can include one or more of polyphenols, flavonoids, o-diphenols, anthocyanins, and phenolic acids. A high-pressure, high-temperature extraction process provides a means to recover a substantial portion of the active compounds from a biomass feedstock. The corresponding extract can be encapsulated, which provides a convenient form for stabilization and delivery of the active compounds into a final product, for example an active packaging material or corresponding actively packaged food item.
