EXTRACTION APPARATUS WITH SCREW CONVEYORS FOR TOBACCO MATERIAL
The apparatus for the extraction of ingredients from plant material, in particular alkaloids or tobacco flavors from tobacco material comprises a first screw conveyor (1, 22) with at least one rotatably driven first screw (8, 25, 26), which is adapted to convey the plant material from a first screw conveyor inlet (3, 37) to a first screw conveyor outlet (4). The apparatus further comprises a second screw conveyor (9, 23) with at least one rotatably driven second screw (9, 27, 28), which is adapted to convey the plant material from a second screw conveyor inlet (6) to a second screw conveyor outlet (7). A fluid connection (5, 38) is provided in between the first screw conveyor outlet (4) and the second screw conveyor inlet (6). The fluid connection is adapted to enable flow of plant material from the first screw conveyor outlet to the second screw conveyor inlet. The first screw conveyor has a first fluid outlet at its downstream side. The second screw conveyor has a second fluid outlet at its downstream side.
Horizontal Axis Rotary Separation Apparatus and Process
A horizontal axis rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. The process physically separates resin rich beads at the trichome gland head from extraneous plant matter by one or move separation sieves. The sieves are provided in or as a casing over a rigid frame member. The sieves are mesh fabric bags or screen that are easily opened and replenished in a batch operating mode, and are removable from the frame for cleaning and maintenance. Other aspects of the invention include processes that improve process efficiency and speed, and yield products of superior quality.
Device and method for the high-pressure treatment of bulk material by extraction and/or impregnation and use
Devices and methods for the high-pressure treatment of bulk material by extraction and/or impregnation. The bulk material is arranged in the interior volume of a pressure vessel device and is treated at a high pressure while sealed off from the surroundings. The high-pressure treatment is performed batchwise in a closed system in the pressure vessel device in a pressure-tight fashion. The bulk material is fed batchwise to the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed and being arranged on at least one treatment level and, after the high-pressure treatment has occurred, being discharged batchwise from the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed. The invention furthermore relates to the use of a supporting tray module with at least one treatment level for the high-pressure treatment in a closed system.
RECOVERY OF HIGH-VALUE COMPONENTS FROM BIOMASS
A method for separating and recovering compounds from biomass is provided. In the method, an aqueous extraction fluid in essentially gaseous phase, such as steam, is propagated through a reaction area containing biomass feedstock. When extraction fluid advances through the biomass feedstock, in predetermined reaction conditions, a target compound separates from the essentially solid feedstock matter and travels, with the extraction fluid, towards the end of the reaction area, in where the target compound is recovered in the form of an essentially liquid medium. The method is beneficial for extracting long-chain hemicelluloses from cellulose-containing feedstocks.
FEEDSTOCK PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM
The invention relates to a process, method and devices for recovery of products from a feedstock such as an organic, non-organic or biodynamic feedstock. The products include consumables such as high nutrition foods, nutraceuticals and bioactive compounds and/or non-consumables such as energy and synfuels. The invention typically includes real-time process optimisation. The devices include a counter current diffusion extractor and a decorticator for deriving useful products from a feedstock, optionally for consumption in further processing.
Process for the extraction of cannabinoids from cannabis using lipids as an extraction solvent
Processes are described herein for the extraction of cannabinoids from cannabis using lipids as an extraction solvent.
Rotatable basket extractor
A rotatable basket extractor for use in extracting oil from oleaginous feed material is disclosed. The extractor includes a rotatable rotor that includes a plurality of baskets extending radially outward from a central shaft, and the baskets receive and transport the oleaginous feed material while a motor rotates the baskets between a feed inlet and a feed outlet. The rotor is located within a housing and positioned above a screen through which miscella that drains from the feed material passes. The miscella is collected in a trough located below the screen and is sprayed onto the feed material bed positioned within the baskets in a counter-current manner. A suction device pulls vapor down between the particles of the feed material bed to decrease the drainage time of the miscella through the feed material.
COMPOSITIONS THAT CONTAIN LIPOPHILIC PLANT MATERIAL AND SURFACTANT, AND RELATED METHODS
Described are liquid compositions that contain a desired (e.g., extracted) plant material such as cannabinoid, terpene, terpenoid, or the like, contained, e.g., dissolved, suspended, or emulsified, in the liquid, which contains surfactant; methods of preparing these types of liquid compositions; and methods of processing this type of liquid composition to collect, isolate, concentrate, or purify a desired target material contained in the liquid composition.
TIMBER REMEDIATION
Disclosed herein is a method of remediating chromated copper arsenate (CCA) treated timber. Particularly, the method comprises contacting the CCA timber with an oxidative solvent and an acidic solvent which provides remediated timber and a variety of extracts containing amongst other things the metals of concern. One or more of the steps is conducted using continuous counter current extraction (CCE).
Processes and Systems for Recovery of Solvents and Target Botanical Compounds
Processes and systems for the recovery of solvents from a feedstock are provided, as well as processes and systems for the recovery of target botanical compounds. The processes and systems include a heated mixing device, in which a feedstock can be simultaneously mixed and heated to vaporize and release a solvent or botanical compound from the feedstock. The vaporized solvent or botanical compound can be condensed and collected as recovered solvent or a recovered botanical compound,
