The invention relates to a system and a method for the processing of minerals containing the lanthanide series and the production of rare earth oxides, which allow a completely closed and continuous treatment of the different materials and desorbent agents involved in the process, thus improving the efficiency in the extraction and avoiding environmental risks associated. The method comprising the steps of: reception and conditioning of the raw material; desorption of valuable product through a plurality of mixing and reaction stages in which the raw material is contacted in countercurrent with a stream of desorbent solution; separation of fine solids; precipitation of secondary minerals through the use of a first reactive solution; precipitation of rare earth carbonates through the use of a second reactive solution; and drying and roasting of the rare earth carbonates to obtain rare earth oxides; wherein the method further comprises a secondary process that allows further processing of the residual mineral, and a dewatering and washing step wherein the residual mineral from the desorption step is washed and a lanthanide-containing liquid is recovered.

Aqueous extraction of psychoactive compounds from psilocybin fungus
This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from psilocybin fungus for use in medicine. Raw psilocybin fungus is dried and ground. The solvent used for extraction is a lower aliphatic alcohol, water, a hydro-alcohol mixture, an acidic hydro-alcohol mixture, or an alkaline hydro-alcohol mixture. The extraction slurry is filtered and pH-adjusted if necessary. The solvent is then partially evaporated, or completely evaporated with water added back, to form a concentrated slurry. The concentrated slurry is then standardized to provide a known concentration of the psychoactive alkaloids that have been extracted. The standardized slurry may then be dried to result in a powdered psilocybin mushroom extract with a precisely defined purity.

Devices and methods for the high-pressure treatment of bulk material by extraction and/or impregnation. The bulk material is arranged in the interior volume of a pressure vessel device and is treated at a high pressure while sealed off from the surroundings. The high-pressure treatment is performed batchwise in a closed system in the pressure vessel device in a pressure-tight fashion. The bulk material is fed batchwise to the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed and being arranged on at least one treatment level and, after the high-pressure treatment has occurred, being discharged batchwise from the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed. The invention furthermore relates to the use of a supporting tray module with at least one treatment level for the high-pressure treatment in a closed system.

The present application relates to processing of cannabis material, particularly on a large scale, such as at an industrial level. Cannabis is typically a controlled and regulated substance, and has traditionally been processed in low quantities. The extraction method of the present disclosure extracts relatively high content of total saponins, and has relatively high yield of saponins and low content of impurities, and each step acts synergistically to solve the problems of relatively low total saponin content, more impumayrities and bubbling in the extraction process.

Other variations provide a method of extracting a product from biomass, the method comprising: introducing biomass into a process chamber; mechanically sealing the process chamber; mechanically compressing the biomass to release a first fluid material; mechanically decompressing the biomass; introducing an extraction solvent into the process chamber; maintaining process-chamber pressure from about 1 bar to about 1000 bar, wherein the extraction solvent extracts a second fluid material; and recovering the second fluid material from the process chamber. High processing throughput is enabled with this invention.
