OXYGENATED METAL COMPOUNDS FOR SELECTIVE EXTRACTION OF LITHIUM SALTS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A mobile phase including a lithium salt flows through a stationary phase including an oxygenated metal compound with affinity to the lithium salt through a Lewis acid-Lewis base interaction so that the oxygenated metal compound captures the lithium salt through the Lewis acid-Lewis base interaction. An eluent flows through the stationary phase to release the lithium salt captured by the oxygenated metal compound into the eluent. The eluent includes a Lewis base or a Lewis acid that disrupts the Lewis acid-Lewis base interaction between the lithium salt and the oxygenated metal compound. The eluent including the released lithium salt is collected after the eluent flows through the stationary phase.
METHODS OF MAKING MEDIA OF SUBSTANTIALLY MONODISPERSE POPULATIONS OF POLYARYLKETONE OR POLYARYLTHIOETHERKETONE PARTICLES, AND CONTAINERS COMPRISING THEM
The invention provides separation media of substantially monodisperse populations of substantially spherical particles of polyarylketone polymers or of thio-analogues of such polymers, of selected sizes, and further provides containers, such as chromatographic columns and cartridges, containing substantially monodisperse populations of such particles.
HIERARCHICAL SILICA LAMELLA FOR MAGNETIC NUCLEIC ACID EXTRACTION
Disclosed herein is a novel method to fabricate magnetic silica nanomembranes using thin polymer cores based on silica deposition and self-wrinkling induced by thermal shrinkage. These micro- and nano-scale structures have vastly enlarged the specific area of silica, thus the magnetic silica nanomembranes can be used for solid phase extraction of nucleic acids. The magnetic silica nanomembranes are suitable for nucleic acid purification and isolation and demonstrated better performance than commercial particles in terms of nucleic acid recovery yield and integrity. In addition, the magnetic silica nanomembranes may have high nucleic acid capacity due to significantly enlarged specific surface area of silica. Methods of use and devices comprising the magnetic silica nanomembranes are also provided herein.
AUTOMATIC SEPARATION APPARATUS FOR FOUR FRACTIONS OF HEAVY OIL AND SEPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure provides an automatic separation apparatus for four fractions of heavy oil and a separation method thereof, wherein the apparatus includes a solvent reservoir tank (1), a separation unit for four fractions of heavy oil (100) and a receiving apparatus (9). The separation unit for four fractions of heavy oil (100) includes: a filter disc (4) having one end in communication with the solvent reservoir tank (1), and the other end in communication with an inlet of a pre-column flow path switching valve (5); a chromatographic column (6) having an inlet in communication with an outlet of the pre-column flow path switching valve (5), and an outlet in communication with an inlet of a post-column flow path switching valve (8). The receiving apparatus is in communication with an outlet of the post-column flow path switching valve (8).
PROCESS TO PRODUCE LITHIUM COMPOUNDS
A method of producing lithium phosphate from a lithium source includes the step of (a) concentrating the lithium to produce a lithium concentrate, with an ion exchange sorbent, and (b) reacting the lithium concentrate with phosphate anions to produce lithium phosphate. The lithium phosphate may then be converted to lithium hydroxide or lithium 5 carbonate by reaction with calcium hydroxide or by electrolysis.
METHOD FOR ANALYZING DEGARELIX AND ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS
Provided are methods for analyzing and purifying degarelix or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof containing at least one related impurity. Also provided are methods for analyzing and purifying degarelix or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof containing compound A and/or compound D as an impurity. Further provided are degarelix or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof prepared from and/or selected using the disclosed methods.
A METHOD OF PROVIDING A HOMOGENEOUS FEED STREAM WITHIN A PLUG FLOW REACTOR
A device and method for in-line homogenizing a non-uniform feed stream is described herein, which includes a plug flow reactor (PFR), a bypass line, and a pump in a closed-circuit flow path that allows for rapid homogenization of the non-uniform feed stream.
SYNTHESIS OF LACTONE DERIVATIVES AND THEIR USE IN THE MODIFICATION OF PROTEINS
Site-specific modifications of proteins are desirable in biotechnological applications such as biopharmaceuticals, immunotherapy, vaccines, and are useful in chemical biology. Gluconoylation is a non-enzymatic, covalent, post-translational modification commonly observed on N-terminal His-Tags bearing proteins. We synthesized glucono-1,5-lactone derivatives, including azido variants for selective acylation. High yield acylation is achieved by simply mixing derivatives with target protein amidst diverse conditions of temperatures, aqueous buffers, excipients, or complex cell lysate.

An electrolytic eluent generator includes an electrolyte reservoir and at least one eluent generation cartridge. The electrolyte reservoir includes a chamber containing an aqueous electrolyte solution; and a first electrode. The at least one eluent generation cartridge includes a platinum mesh electrode; a polymer screen; a plurality of reinforced membranes; a membrane washer; and a spacer including a central post and an annular projection.
