SYSTEM FOR SEPARATING GAS
An improved system for separating gas from a process stream by providing a stripping unit at the overhead stream of a fractionation column to selectively and effectively remove the gas using a stripping fluid without providing a dedicated light-ends separations unit. The stripper unit may be connected to the reflux drum at the overhead stream. The system for separating gas further achieves greater thermodynamic efficiency by means of a split column design using mechanical vapor recompression with the reboiler and condenser integrated in a falling-film evaporator- or thermosiphon-type vapo-condenser.
Ammonia Stripper Apparatus and Method
An ammonia stripper (32) and method for stripping ammonia from ammonia-containing water is described, comprising an ammonia-containing water inlet (56), a steam inlet (70), and a forced air inlet (82), and an ammonia-containing gas outlet (36) and a wastewater outlet (72). The steam and air contact the ammonia-containing water in counter-flow to release ammonia from the ammonia-containing water. The ammonia stripper further comprises a steam and air mixing duct (200) shaped to create turbulence in the steam and air flow to promote mixing of the steam and air flow prior to contacting the ammonia-containing water. Also described is an ammonia stripper and method comprising a precipitation unit for precipitating solids from the ammonia-containing water prior to the inlet, and an ammonia stripper and method comprising a steam flash vessel for generating steam from the wastewater produced by the ammonia stripper for recycling into the ammonia stripper. Further described are thermal destructors for destroying ammonia in ammonia-containing gas from an ammonia stripper; and a method of removing ammonia from ammonia-containing gas wherein ammonia-containing gas is drawn from the ammonia-containing gas outlet and returned into the ammonia stripper to mix with the forced air entering the ammonia stripper.
Carbon dioxide capturing system and operation method thereof
According to embodiment, a carbon dioxide capturing system cools a regenerator discharge gas discharged from a regenerator 5 containing carbon dioxide by a cooling unit 8, and then sends the gas to a cleaner 9. The cleaner 9 receives condensed water generated from the regenerator discharge gas cooled by the cooler 9, and a gaseous cooled regenerator discharge gas, and cleans the cooled regenerator discharge gas by a cleaning liquid. The cleaner 9 has a first liquid reservoir 9b configured to store the condensed water, and a second liquid reservoir 9c configured to store the cleaning liquid having cleaned the cooled regenerator discharge gas.
Process for hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feed stream
A hydrocracking process is disclosed. The hydrocracking process comprises hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feed stream in a hydrocracking reactor in the presence of a hydrogen stream and a hydrocracking catalyst to produce a hydrocracked effluent stream. The hydrocracked effluent stream is separated in a separator to provide a vapor hydrocracked stream and a liquid hydrocracked stream. The liquid hydrocracked stream is fractionated to provide a naphtha stream, a kerosene stream having a T90 temperature of about 204° C. (399° F.) to about 238° C. (460° F.), a diesel stream having a T90 temperature of about 360° C. (680° F.) to about 383° C. (721° F.) and an unconverted oil stream. The kerosene stream, the unconverted oil stream, and a portion of the diesel stream is recycled to the hydrocracking reactor for hydrocracking.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SYNTHESIS GAS
A process for producing synthesis gas, the process comprising the steps of a) reforming a hydrocarbon feed in a reforming section thereby obtaining a synthesis gas comprising CH4, CO, CO2, H2 and H2O and impurities comprising ammonia; b) shifting the synthesis gas in a shift section comprising one or more shift steps in series to a shifted synthesis gas; c) separating from the shifted synthesis gas a process condensate originating from cooling and optionally washing of the shifted synthesis gas; d) passing a part of the process condensate to a condensate steam stripper, wherein dissolved shift byproducts comprising ammonia, methanol and amines formed during shifting the synthesis gas are stripped out of the process condensate using steam resulting in a stripper steam stream, e) adding the stripper steam stream from the process condensate steam stripper to the hydrocarbon feed and/or to the synthesis gas downstream the reforming section, up-stream the last shift step, wherein the remaining part of the process condensate is purged.
A Deaerator
A deaerator includes a vessel having a chamber defined by an outer wall; and a tray module detachably connected to the vessel, the tray module having a plurality of deaerator trays which are connected to one another in a spaced relationship to form a stack which is suspended within the chamber.

Reducing Fouling in Amine Systems
The invention generally relates to processes for reducing fouling in amine systems and to equipment useful in such processes. Such amine systems are useful for removing one or more acidic gases such as CO.sub.2 or H.sub.2S from olefin containing hydrocarbon streams. The invention generally relates to minimizing residence time of foulant and foulant precursors at the relatively high temperature found in the amine regenerator and/or to purging the foulant and foulant precursors from the regenerator system. This is accomplished by operating the regenerator column as a stripper (no reflux) and re-routing reflux liquid containing foulant or foulant precursors to a processing location that is less prone to fouling or, optionally, by replacing the reflux liquid with fresh make-up amine or water.
Ammonia Stripper
An ammonia stripper has an aerator and heat exchanger tubing in a tank. The aerator and coil are preferably attached to a frame to form a removable cassette. The cassette may also include a lid for the tank. The tank is preferably rectangular and optionally can be made with the dimensions of a standard shipping container. In a process, water flows through the tank while air bubbles are produced through the aerator. A heating medium such as water flows through the heat exchanger tubing. A gas containing ammonia is withdrawn from a headspace of the tank.
PROCESS FOR SEPARATING A PRODUCT GAS FROM A GASEOUS MIXTURE UTILIZING A GAS PRESSURIZED SEPARATION COLUMN AND A SYSTEM TO PERFORM THE SAME
A gas pressurized separation system strips a product gas from a stream yielding a high pressure gaseous effluent containing the product gas such as may be used to capture CO.sub.2 from coal fired post combustion flue gas capture and to purify natural gas, syngas and EOR recycle gas. The system comprises a gas pressurized stripping column allowing flow of one or more raw streams in a first direction and allowing flow of one or more high pressure gas streams in a second direction, to strip the product gas into the high pressure gas stream and yield a high pressure gaseous effluent that contains the product gas. The process can further comprise a final separation process to further purify the product gas from the GPS column. For CO.sub.2 product, a preferred energy efficient final separation process, compound compression and refrigeration process, is also introduced.
