High rate thickener and eductors therefor
11708286 · 2023-07-25 · ·

A thickener for dewatering fluids having a vessel with a central well extending proximate a top portion of the vessel to a lower cone-shaped portion, a hindered settling zone, and a compressible sediment layer zone within the lower cone-shaped portion. Eductors housed in inlet wells have an inlet nozzle and a mixing tube to receive slurry to be treated and clear fluid to be mixed with the slurry. The fluid from the eductors is directed in counter circular paths via circular chambers situated proximate the inlet wells, such that fluid flowing in each direction collides and forms turbulence within the central well. Resultant fluid is directed into a lamella-type separator circumferentially located about a portion of the central well, having layered fluid paths directed radially outwards from said center longitudinal axis and upwards towards said vessel top portion through a conical, inclined fluid path, plate structure. The eductors are adjustable with a movable iris for limiting the amount of clear fluid exiting the eductor.

A natural gas pretreatment system includes a heat exchanger having a first inlet, a second inlet, a first outlet, and a second outlet. The first inlet receives a first pressurized gas stream having a first input temperature, and the second inlet receives a second pressurized gas stream having a second temperature. The second temperature is higher than the first temperature. The first outlet outputs the first gas stream; upon exiting the heat exchanger, the first gas stream has a first output temperature higher than the first input temperature. The second outlet outputs the second gas stream; upon exiting the heat exchanger, the second gas stream has a second output temperature lower than the second input temperature. The system further includes a pipeline network operable to receive the first pressurized gas stream.

Apparatus for separating particles from a particulate suspension
11541332 · 2023-01-03 ·

An apparatus for separating particles from a particulate suspension comprises a conduit comprising a plurality of elongate channels extending in adjacent alignment along a spiral path at different curvature radii from an axis of the spiral path. Longitudinal sidewalls of the elongate channels are fluidly joined together to allow for transfer of fluid between them. The apparatus also comprises an inlet for directing a particulate suspension into the conduit and outlets that direct fluid from the particulate suspension out from different discharge positions. At least first and second of the elongate channels are approximately circular in cross section and comprise a shared longitudinal sidewall, wherein the shared longitudinal sidewall comprises opposed uppermost and lowermost sidewall sections that are laterally offset from one another relative to the axis of the spiral path to allow for transfer of helically flowing fluid between the first and second of the elongate channels.

Multi-level outlet weir for enhanced volumetric separation for stormwater treatment

A method, system, and apparatus directed to an innovative approach for the treatment of stormwater utilizing hydrodynamic separator assembly designed to maximize flow movement for more efficient sediment removal and maximize water flow control.

DENTAL DEBRIS SEPARATOR
20220401199 · 2022-12-22 ·

The disclosure relates to a dental debris separator having a housing in the upper region of which a drainage zone for removing particle-containing liquid from an air flow which is loaded with the liquid. The housing has an inlet for the loaded air flow, leading tangentially into the drainage zone. Downstream of the drainage zone a separation zone for removing the particles from the particle-containing liquid is provided in the housing, said separation zone descending from the drainage zone to the separation zone, the drainage zone having a curved flow path that is delimited on its lower side by a crown of baffle elements.

FEEDWELL APPARATUS, TROUGH, PLANT AND USE

A feedwell apparatus trough, plant and use. The apparatus is adapted to materials including liquids carrying suspended particles, such as slurry containing minerals. The feedwell apparatus includes a supply channel for receiving the material, a trough, a first end of which being connected in fluid communication with the supply channel. The trough has a curved shape that turns in one direction, and a series of through-openings in the wall(s) of the trough. The through-openings are arranged in the trough in unequal pattern such that the area of the through-openings in pro-portion to the corresponding area of the walls has its minimum value in portion of the trough close to the first end thereof, and the relation being arranged to grow with the distance from the first end.

Thickener feed distributor

A feedwell comprising a plurality of holes disposed in a bottom thereof, at least some of the holes having a tube disposed thereabout which extends downward or otherwise away from an interior of the feedwell. Optionally, a large center hole can be provided and it can have a tube disposed around it. By providing a plurality of holes spread across a large portion of the bottom of the feedwell, lower velocity flow rates from the feedwell to a sedimentation chamber can be provided, thus reducing induced turbulence in the fluid within the sedimentation chamber, while still providing sufficient separation of the feedwell from the sedimentation chamber so that the contents of the feedwell can be properly and adequately mixed.

MARINE DEBRIS COLLECTION DEVICE
20220341114 · 2022-10-27 ·

A marine debris collection device includes a first debris collector to remove non-minute debris contained in debris floating on water by allowing the debris to flow thereinto together with the water, and a second debris collector to remove minute debris by adsorbing the minute debris onto a microbubble generated when the water flows into the second debris collector from the first debris collector via a connection pipe.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MIXTURE SEPARATION

A separator includes an inlet manifold, a throat, and an outlet manifold. The inlet manifold is configured to receive a flow of the mixture. The throat is attached to the inlet manifold. The throat separates heavy species of the mixture from light species of the mixture. The outlet manifold is attached to the throat. The outlet manifold includes an outlet valve and a throttle shaft. The outlet valve includes a cone-shaped inlet and a bowl-shaped outlet. The throttle shaft includes a shaft and a cone-shaped head. The cone-shaped head is positioned within the cone-shaped inlet and the shaft extends through the bowl-shaped outlet. The bowl-shaped outlet, the cone-shaped inlet, and the cone-shaped head are sized and shaped to control the flow of the heavy species through the outlet valve and the flow of the mixture through the separator.
