The filter housing (30) delimits a first volume for receiving a flow of liquid to be filtered, said first volume being delimited radially around the filter medium (38) and communicating with the inlet port (19) and a second volume for receiving a flow of filtered liquid, said second volume being delimited radially inside the filter medium (38) and communicating with the outlet port (21). The filter head (36) includes an anti-leakage valve (50) comprising a closing element (52) that is movable between a closed position in which it closes off the inlet port (19) and an open position in which the liquid can flow through the inlet port (19) and the filter (6, 12) further includes a pin (54) that is fitted on the filter element (32) and that is configured to penetrate inside the inlet port (19) so as to move the closing element (52) from the closed position to the open position.

A filter cartridge includes a removable filter. The filter cartridge includes housing that connects to a manifold at one end and has a removable cover at another end. The removable cover is held onto the housing by a removable connector. When one desires to change the filter, the cartridge is disconnected from the manifold, the removable connector is removed, then the removable cover is removed, and then the removable filter is replaced. Next, the removable cover is put back on, then the connector is connected, and the cartridge is reconnected to the manifold.

A filter device for a water-bearing domestic appliance which has a surface filter with a sleeve shape, a support structure for said surface filter and a flow-through filter housing with filter inlet and filter outlet. The surface filter is held stably on the support structure, which has through-flow openings and a central opening at the end. A first flow path for water leads into the support structure and out again through the through-flow openings and the surface filter. A second flow path leads into the support structure and out again only through the central opening. The support structure is designed circumferential and is formed by support ribs which between them comprise the through-flow openings. The surface filter is attached or pressed onto the outside of the support structure in such a way that it covers the through-flow openings and rests on the outside of the support ribs.

A filter arrangement for an aquarium is disclosed. The filter arrangement can include a housing assembly, a pump assembly, a transfer tube assembly, and a valve assembly for controlling water flow through the transfer tube assembly. The transfer tube assembly can include a tube structure within which a valve body of the valve assembly is rotatably disposed. The tube structure can be formed from a first tube half mated to a second tube half to permanently secure the valve body within the tube structure. A valve operator can be connected to the valve body to advantageously allow a user to manipulate the flow of water through the transfer tube assembly. Control of water flow through the filter arrangement is beneficial for obtaining a desired water flow for a certain aquarium size and application and for reducing flow during certain periods, such as during feeding.

A backflow of liquid inside a filter device during an operation of an internal combustion engine is allowed to be obviated while air inside the filter device is purged so as not to generate bubbles in the liquid. An outflow portion that includes a cylindrical portion having a substantially bottomed cylindrical shape and a back pressure valve provided inside the cylindrical portion is provided so as to penetrate a bottom surface of a case. In addition, a lid body provided on the case and an upper plate of a filter element so as to cover an upper end of the case has a first hole that communicates between a space inside the case and a space outside the case. When the back pressure valve opens (a valve body does not abut on a first valve seat), a space inside the filter element communicates with the space outside the case via a second through-hole formed in a side surface of the cylindrical portion.
