A method for removing sulfur-containing compounds from methanol, said method comprising the step of subjecting methanol comprising sulfur-containing compounds to centrifugal countercurrent chromatography (CCCC) to remove sulfur-containing compounds, and the use of centrifugal countercurrent chromatography (CCCC) for removing sulfur-containing compounds from methanol.

Treatment of degraded oxime metal extractants in process organic solutions
10662499 · 2020-05-26 · ·

The invention relates to a method for regenerating the extractive potential of an organic hydroxyoxime-based extraction solution used in the recovery of metals by liquid-liquid extraction. The method is two-stage, in which a solid hydroxylamine is used in the reaction stage, and the removal of the undesirable compounds generated in the reaction occurs in the second stage by adsorption purification. The method of the invention is suitable for treatment of degraded oxime metal extractants in various process organic solutions both in aldehyde and ketoxime extractant solutions. The method can also be used to treat a mixture of degraded oxime extractants.

A water harvesting unit may include a cylindrical vessel having a central axis. The vessel may include an at least partially fluid-permeable first cylindrical sidewall, an at least partially fluid-permeable second cylindrical sidewall, a fluid impermeable annular base, and a fluid impermeable annular lip. The first cylindrical sidewall may define a vessel inlet. The second cylindrical sidewall may define a vessel outlet. The first cylindrical sidewall and the second cylindrical sidewall may extend between the annular base and the annual lip. The second cylindrical sidewall may be disposed at least partially within the first cylindrical sidewall.
