In some embodiments, the non-woven matrix comprises nanofibers suitable for capturing a droplet comprising a microbe (e.g. a virus particle). In some embodiments, the non-woven matrix comprises a biocide suitable for reducing propagation and/or inactivating a microbe.
Method and apparatuses for screening
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a screen basket apparatus includes a substantially vertical cylindrical frame and a synthetic screening surface secured to the frame. The synthetic screening surface may be configured to separate carbon or resin from a slurry of a carbon-in-leach, carbon-in-pulp, resin-in-leach, or resin-in-pulp material as fluid flows from outside to inside the screen basket apparatus such that carbon or resin is retained on an external surface of the synthetic screening surface. The cylindrical frame may be a grid frame and the synthetic screening surface may include a plurality of replaceable screen assemblies attached to the grid frame. The grid frame may include a plurality of openings and each of the plurality of openings is configured to receive a respective one of the plurality of replaceable screen assemblies. The synthetic screening surface may include injected molded thermoplastics, thermoset polyurethanes, and/or other polymeric materials.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
The present invention relates to anti-microbial, antiviral, fibers, and fabrics and to devices made from said fabrics. The invention has particular utility in connection with personal protective equipment (PPE’s) such as surgical masks and respirators, and will be described in connection with such utilities, although other utilities are contemplated, including, for example for forming air handling filters for people movers, i.e., automobiles, trucks, buses, trains, ships and planes, as well as for forming filters for air handling equipment for buildings.
FILTER INSERT AND SAMPLE VIAL USING THE SAME
A filter insert, a sample vial incorporating a filter insert, a method of using a sample vial containing a filter insert for chemical analysis, and a sample vial kit including a filter insert. The filter insert includes a cylindrical body having a proximal end, a protrusion extending radially from the proximal end of the cylindrical body and configured to set on the open end of a sample vial, a distal end, a cavity extending longitudinally through the cylindrical body from the proximal end to the distal end, and a filter assembly coupled with the distal end of the cylindrical body.
Systems and methods for stormwater management
A fluid management system including an inlet configured to receive pre-processed fluid is provided. The system includes a filtering apparatus configured to remove contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The filtering apparatus includes a plate having a first opening. A first manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations and a second opening at least partially aligned with the first opening. A second manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations. Filter media is disposed between the first manifold pipe and the second manifold pipe and is configured to separate the contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The system also includes an outlet coupled to the second manifold pipe to receive processed fluid from the filtering apparatus.
SINGLE-USE FILTER COMPONENT, A METHOD FOR TREATING AIR AND USE OF A POLYMER OR COPOLYMER OF DIVINYLBENZENE
The present disclosure relates to a single-use filter component for removing NO.sub.2 in an air-treatment system, the component comprising a polymeric composition as an air-filtration medium, the polymeric composition comprising a plurality of free vinyl groups, wherein the component permits inspection of the air-filtration medium by an end-user to determine when the filter is spent, based on a white to yellow colour change, or comprises an optical sensor configured to notify the end-user of the colour change. The present disclosure further relates to a single-use filter component for simultaneously removing NO.sub.2 in an air-treatment system, wherein the component comprises a HEPA filter formed from a polymeric composition comprising a plurality of free vinyl groups. The present disclosure further relates to an air treatment system, to a method of treating air and to the use of a polymer or copolymer of divinylbenzene for forming an air-filtration medium.
AIR FILTER WITH PATHOGEN MONITORING AND INACTIVATION
An improved technology for inactivation of viruses, for example the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is causing the Covid-19 pandemic, is described. The technology can include a device that includes a substrate coated in a polymer that is infused with a pathogen inactivating material. In various embodiments, at a given time, a portion of the pathogen inactivating material is exposed to the environment, and the device is configured to periodically or intermittently expose additional pathogen inactivating material to the environment. For example, the polymer can be ablative or sacrificial.
HIGH PARTICLE CAPTURE MOISTURE ABSORBING FABRIC
A gas filtering medium is composed of hydrophobic polyester fiber as from 20-80% by total weight of textile fibers and 80-20% by total weight of hydrophilic textile fibers and a microfibrillated cellulose fiber in a weight/weight ratio of 1.5-8.5/100 parts by weight of total textile fiber.
REUSABLE RESPIRATION FILTERING MASK USING A FLUID FILTER WITH PERSISTENT ANTI-MICROBIAL PROPERTIES AND FLUID FILTER WITH PERSISTENT ANTI-MICROBIAL PROPERTIES.
A respiration filtering face mask that can be washed and sterilized by common means and reused repeatedly comprised of a filtering component that is a laminate of at least one layer of particle filtering material and at least one layer of a microbe killing metallic woven cloth laminated together by adhesive or fusible material in a manner that allows low resistance to air flow, cut to a shape that is folded into a modified cone, a padding filled gasket that is continuously sealed to the outer edge of the filter cone, harness straps that are elastic and user adjustable for length and tension, and an attached shield to prevent fogging of eye ware. A method for making said anti-microbial filter and respiration filtering face mask.
