METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRE-PURIFICATION OF A FEED GAS STREAM
A system and method of pre-purification of a feed gas stream is provided that is particularly suitable for pre-purification of a feed air stream in cryogenic air separation unit. The disclosed pre-purification systems and methods are configured to remove substantially all of the hydrogen, carbon monoxide, water, and carbon dioxide impurities from a feed air stream and is particularly suitable for use in a high purity or ultra-high purity nitrogen plant. The pre-purification systems and methods preferably employ two or more separate layers of hopcalite catalyst with the successive layers of the hopcalite separated by a zeolite adsorbent layer that removes water and carbon dioxide produced in the hopcalite layers.
SULFUR-CONTAINING ORGANIC COMPOUND ASSISTED METAL NANOPARTICLE SYNTHESIS FOR THREE-WAY CATALYSIS APPLICATION
A method of manufacturing a catalyst article, the method comprising: providing a slurry comprising a support material, palladium ions, alkaline-earth-metal ions and an organic compound, wherein the organic compound comprises a functional group selected from a sulfo group (—SO.sub.3H), a sulfonyl group (—S(═O).sub.2—) and a sulfinyl group (—S(═O)—); disposing the slurry on a substrate; and heating the slurry to form nanoparticles of the palladium and nanoparticles of a sulfate of the alkaline earth metal on the support material.
OXYGEN STORAGE CAPACITY OF NON-COPPER SPINEL OXIDE MATERIALS FOR TWC APPLICATIONS
Zero-Rare Earth Metal (ZREM) and Zero-platinum group metals (ZPGM) compositions of varied binary spinel oxides are disclosed as oxygen storage material (OSM) to be used within TWC systems. The ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems comprise binary non-Cu spinel oxides of Co—Fe, Fe—Mn, Co—Mn, or Mn—Fe. The oxygen storage capacity (OSC) property associated with the non-Cu ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems is determined employing isothermal OSC oscillating condition testing. Further, the OSC test results compare the OSC properties of a ZREM-ZPGM reference OSM system including a Cu—Mn binary spinel oxide and PGM reference catalysts including Ce-based OSMs. The non-Cu spinel oxides ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems exhibit significantly improved OSC properties, which are greater than the OSC property of the Ce-based OSM PGM reference systems.

MULTI-REGION TWC CATALYSTS FOR GASOLINE ENGINE EXHAUST GAS TREATMENTS WITH IMPROVED H2S ATTENUATION
A catalyst article for treating exhaust gas from a gasoline engine comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; a first catalytic region beginning at the inlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first PGM component and a first inorganic oxide; a second catalytic region beginning at the outlet end, wherein the second catalytic region comprises a second PGM component, a second oxygen storage capacity (OSC) material, and a second inorganic oxide; wherein the first catalytic region is substantially free of ceria; and wherein the first PGM component is palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) or a combination thereof.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of reducing a noble metal amount while maintaining a catalyst performance, which comprises a substrate and at least three catalyst coating layers formed on the substrate, the first and third catalyst coating layers contain Pd as a catalyst metal and are formed in a range of a predetermined length from an upstream end surface in an exhaust gas flow direction, and the second catalyst coating layer contains Rh as a catalyst metal and is formed in a range of a predetermined length from a downstream end surface in the exhaust gas flow direction.
Vehicle exhaust component
An exhaust component for a motor vehicle includes a wall, an internal volume, an inlet, and an outlet. The wall includes a core layer having a surface and a first layer disposed on a portion of the surface. The portion is less than 100 percent of an area of the surface. The core layer has a first composition. The first layer is a cold-sprayed layer. The core layer has a second composition different from the first composition. The first layer reduces surface-radiated noise from the exhaust component during operation of the motor vehicle. The internal volume is at least partially defined by the wall. The inlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume. The outlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume.
