CUMENE-PHENOL COMPLEX WITH THERMAL OXIDATION SYSTEM
A process for the treatment of waste water, spent air, and hydrocarbon containing liquid and gaseous streams in the cumene/phenol complex is described. Various effluent streams are combined in appropriate collection vessels, including a spent air knockout drum, a hydrocarbon buffer vessel, a fuel gas knockout drum, a phenolic water vessel, and a non-phenolic water vessel. Streams from these vessels are sent to a thermal oxidation system.

Systems and methods of reducing selenium contamination in waste water
A method of reducing selenium contamination in a waste water stream is described herein. The method includes channeling a flue gas stream through an absorber, contacting the flue gas stream with an aqueous alkaline-based slurry, such that any selenium byproduct in the flue gas stream forms a selenium compound within the aqueous alkaline-based slurry, controlling oxidation of the selenium compound in the aqueous alkaline-based slurry, and adding a precipitation agent to the aqueous alkaline-based slurry to cause the selenium compound within the aqueous alkaline-based slurry to precipitate.
SLURRY BASED MIGRANT GAS CAPTURE SYSTEM
A slurry containing CO2 in solution passes through a venturi at high velocity. As pressure drops within the venturi reactive gases are introduced. Cavitation is induced releasing energy helping mix the slurry with the additive gases and increase a chemical reaction rate and creating a more uniform distribution of ions allowing for better reaction rates. A precipitate is formed sequestering CO2.

CROP GROWTH ENHANCEMENT TECHNOLOGY
A system, apparatus and method of enhancing the growth of crops using gaseous media with deprived Oxygen content. A plant growth apparatus is disclosed including a source of Nitrogen gas (N2); a source of Carbon Dioxide gas (CO2 gas); a compressor connected to the source of Nitrogen gas and to the source of CO2 gas; and one or more gas emitters connected to the compressor and adapted to be disposed near plants in a greenhouse or other enclosure. During use, the gas emitters emit a predetermined amount of Nitrogen gas and a predetermined amount of CO2 gas, in a mixture, to the plants, whereby a diffusion gradient is created in each plant moving Oxygen gas (O2) out of the plant and enhancing photosynthesis in the plant.
OXIDIZING COMPOSITIONS FOR REMOVING SULFUR COMPOUNDS FROM HYDROCARBON FUELS AND WASTEWATER
An oxidizing composition for removing hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) from a gaseous or liquid stream includes mixture products of water, sodium hypochlorite, a chelating agent, and a transition metal compound. The chelating agent can be etidronic acid; the transition metal compound can be an iron (III) compound, such as ferric sulfate. The oxidizing composition is formed by (i) combining water, chelating agent, and transition metal compound to form an activator composition and (ii) mixing the activator composition with a sodium hypochlorite solution to adjust the pH, such as for a particular use. Some embodiments include various apparatuses and methods for treating different treatment sites with the oxidizing compositions disclosed herein. Examples of suitable treatment sites include, without limitation, natural gas pipelines, bubble towers, oil wells, gas wells, sewer wet wells, air scrubbers, saltwater disposal pipelines, and saltwater disposal wells.
