A system for biological methane production and removing carbon dioxide from the methane comprises (a) a primary anaerobic digester adapted and arranged to generate a gaseous mixture comprising methane and carbon dioxide from organic materials; (b) an electrochemical reactor comprising at least one reactor cell including an anode spaced from a cathode by a porous ion exchange resin wafer with a cation exchange membrane between the anode and the resin wafer and a bipolar ion exchange membrane between the cathode and the resin wafer; the electrochemical reactor being adapted and arranged to capture gaseous carbon dioxide within the resin wafer as aqueous bicarbonate, and to electrochemically generate hydrogen gas at the cathode; and (c) a hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis bioreactor adapted and arranged to convert the bicarbonate and hydrogen from the electrochemical reactor to methane. An electrochemical reactor and a method for producing methane with reduced carbon dioxide content also are described.
AIR FILTER FOR COMPRESSED AIR
A filter for compressed air systems is provided. The filter includes a filter housing with a filter therein between an air inlet and an air outlet. Compressed air flowing between the air inlet and the air outlet passes through the filter housing and the filter element. A base is removably fastened to the filter housing which may be separated from the filter housing to allow the filter element to be removed and replaced.
AIR PURIFIER
An air purifier including a housing including an inlet, a first outlet, and a second outlet; a first air blower arranged in the housing and configured to blow air from the inlet in a first direction; a second air blower arranged in the housing in series with the first air blower and configured to blow air from the inlet in a second direction opposite to the first direction; and a purifying filter arranged in the housing downstream of the second air blower with respect to the second direction, wherein the inlet is positioned between the first air blower and the second air blower, the first outlet is positioned downstream of the first air blower with respect to the first direction so that the air blown by the first air blower in the first direction is discharged through the first outlet, and the second outlet is positioned downstream of the purifying filter with respect to the second direction so that the air blown by the second air blower in the second direction passes through the purifying filter and is thereafter discharged through the second outlet.
Indirect Evaporative Cooling Apparatus, Cooling System, and Control Method
An indirect evaporative cooling apparatus includes a housing, a heat exchanger core, a bypass valve, a filter, an indoor fan, and an outdoor fan. The heat exchanger core is in the housing. A first space, a second space, a third space, and a fourth space are formed by the heat exchanger core and the housing, and a first air vent, a second air vent, a third air vent, and a fourth air vent are disposed in the housing. The first space and the second space are connected by using the heat exchanger core to constitute an indoor circulation air duct, the third space and the fourth space are connected by using the heat exchanger core to constitute an outdoor circulation air duct.
MULTI-STAGE COALESCING FILTER
The present invention provides a multi-stage coalescing filter for separating coalesced liquid from an aerosol-containing gas stream. The multi-stage coalescing filter includes an end cap having a chamber formed within and a plurality of coaxial, nested, tubular filter elements supported upright on the end cap. Pairs of successive filter elements are spaced from each other such that the end cap between pairs of successive filter elements forms respective annular sumps for collection of coalesced liquid separated by the filter elements from the aerosol-containing gas stream as it passes radially through the nested filter elements. The chamber has one or more inlets in fluid communication with the or each sump for receiving the coalesced liquid from the sump, and further has one or more outlets for guiding the received coalesced liquid out of the filter. The chamber houses a porous element which is configured to saturate under contact with the received coalesced liquid so as to allow the received coalesced liquid to flow through the porous element to the outlet while simultaneously preventing the aerosol-containing gas stream from passing through the chamber to bypass the nested filter elements.
Multi-modal multi-media air filtration system
A multi-modal multi-media air filtration system which can include: a base having one or more connection features and a filter media assembly, the filter media assembly being configured to attach to the base portion at a first end. The filter media assembly can then also include a first filter media extending across a first air flow path and a second filter media extending across a second air flow path. The air filtration assembly can then also include an actuation assembly configured to selectively open or close one of the first air flow path or the second air flow path so as to alternate the degree of filtration passing through the filter media assembly based on the degree of filtration provided by the first or second filter media.
FILTER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SWITCHING ON AND/OR SWITCHING OFF SUCH FILTER DEVICE
A filter device separating impurities from a gas, including a filter housing having a lid and a pot; the lid having an inlet and an outlet; a filter element in the pot with a top cap and a bottom cap with a filter cartridge therebetween; the top cap has an inlet duct connected to the lid inlet so that the gas to be purified is passed through the inlet duct to the filter cartridge; a space is between the lid and the top cap which is connected to the outlet of the lid; a switching element to be installed rotatably in the lid and rotatable between an off-position in which the inlet port or the outlet port connects to respectively the inlet or outlet of the lid, and a twisted position, in which the entrance of the inlet duct of the top cap can connect to the lid inlet.
