The present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam filters. In particular, the present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam air filters for killing microbes present in air, and the use of said filters in antimicrobial air sanitation systems.

The fuel tank cap with a charcoal canister includes a fuel tank inner cap and a fuel tank outer cap. A filling room with an upper opening is disposed in the center of the fuel tank inner cap. The fuel tank outer cap is disposed above the fuel tank inner cap. The fuel-absorption substrate is filled in the filling room, and a containing room is disposed at the bottom of the filling room. The fuel vapor can be absorbed by the filled charcoal completely, and the little liquid fuel entering from the fuel tank can be stored by the containing room and recycled back to the fuel tank when the gasoline engine stops. The filtering performance of charcoal powder can be enhanced since it is exempted from long-time fuel soaking.

A filter media block and filter element incorporating same are provided. Methods of forming a filter media block and filter element are also provided. The filter media block includes a block of filter media and an outer permeable layer. The outer layer provides support for the block of filter media.

A domestic air purifier system comprising a removable particulate filter (4), a fan (2) or impeller and which is powered by a motor, an air duct (1) through which air passes in an air flow direction and is purified, and said air duct (1) comprising a duct wall and wherein a portion of said duct wall (1) comprises a gas filter (3) and a method of removing unwanted gases from ambient air by passing over a gas filter in such a system.

A surface cleaning apparatus includes first and second pre-motor filters that are in parallel.

A filter assembly and related method are provided. The filter assembly includes one or more support grates for supporting a filter media of the filter assembly. The support grate and filter media are interposed between a pair of preformed end walls of a frame.

A kitchen appliance has a compressible filter media block for removing odor-causing contaminants from cooking fumes. The sintered-fiber media exhibits low pressure drop and high flow rate. Embedded sorbent particles are adhered to the media block, preferably via sintering, thus leaving a substantial proportion of adsorbent surface area exposed for filtration purposes. The media block can be elastic or viscoelastic making it useful in retrofit applications for use in filtration circuits not originally designed to accommodate a filter. In preferred embodiments, the media block is composed of sintered plastic fibers wherein the sorbent particles are adhered thereto via sintering.

Disclosed is an air cleaner filter containing an improved organic gel, wherein an ultra-high efficiency organic gel microbial air (UGMA) filter cartridge has a nano-porous texture on organic gel in spongy carcass diameters of which are randomly distributed, randomly distributed organic gel in spongy carcass as microbial retainer generated by a layer covering inner surfaces of a spongy carcass having randomly distributed pores at the grade selected in the range of 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm according to need, air inlet channels that allow air to be passed into sandwich structure UGMA filter cartridge, air flow channels such that microbial loads smaller than 0.1 pm are retained by pores and the air wipes the nano-pores by generating micro turbulence therein. Also disclosed is a production method for manufacturing the UGMA filter.
