The present invention addresses to a high-pressure vessel for packaging hollow fiber type membranes with application in the field of separation process with contactors with membranes aiming at a compact device/piece of equipment configured for the packaging of hollow fiber type bundles that can be used for various fluid separation processes such as liquid-liquid, liquid-gas and gas-gas, capable of working at high-pressures, enabling adequate hydrodynamic conditions and easily scalable. It is called a module the general piece of equipment, consisting of the vessel (A or C), object of the present invention, and the membranes packed inside the vessel. This piece of equipment consists of a vessel inside which the membranes are placed (14), and two heads attached at the ends (B or D). Each head has two connection points, thus allowing this device to be used with membrane contactors-type separation systems, such as “classical” permeation systems (liquid-liquid, gas-gas, pervaporation).

A separation membrane module includes a separation membrane complex having a support and a separation membrane provided on the support, a housing container for housing the separation membrane complex, and a sealing member existing between a supporting surface provided inside the housing container and a supported surface of the separation membrane complex, being in close contact with the supporting surface and the supported surface. A first static friction coefficient between the sealing member and the supported surface and/or a second static friction coefficient between the sealing member and the supporting surface are/is not higher than 0.5. A value obtained by multiplying the first static friction coefficient and/or the second static friction coefficient by a compressive force [N] of the sealing member and dividing the product by a mass [kg] of the separation membrane complex is larger than 0.7.
FILTER HOLDER FOR EXTRUSION OF LIPOSOMES
A filter holder for liposome extrusion includes a housing having an inlet configured to receive a material to be extruded and an outlet, and a filter support member disposed within the housing between the inlet and the outlet. The filter support member includes an upstream side having a filter support surface configured to support a membrane filter assembly, a downstream side opposite the upstream side, and a plurality of passages extending through the filter support member from the filter support surface to the downstream side. The filter holder also includes an outlet cavity in fluid communication with the outlet, and the filter holder is configured such that the material to be extruded flows through the membrane filter assembly and into the outlet cavity via the plurality of passages before being discharged through the outlet.
COLLECTION OF CELLS FROM BIOLOGICAL FLUID
A biological filtering device includes a fluid inlet for receiving a biological fluid, a human cell filter coupled to the fluid inlet and having a pore size to capture human cells, a bacteria cell filter having a pore size to capture bacteria cells, a fluid connector fluidically connecting the human cell filter to the bacteria cell filter, and a fluid outlet coupled to the bacteria cell filter for discharging the biological fluid. In some cases, the biological filtering device may include an additional human cell filter and/or an additional bacteria cell filter. A method of using a biological filtering device includes fluidically coupling the biological filtering device between a syringe and a biological fluid storage unit, inserting a catheter into a patient, and pulling biological fluid, via the syringe, from the patient, through the human cell filter and the bacteria cell filter, and into the biological fluid storage unit.
SEALING ELEMENT
