A filter plate frame assembly with a filter plate frame and a subframe housed within the frame, such that the subframe can be removed from the frame without removing the frame from the filter press. In this way, consumable components can be provided in connection with the subframe, which can be easily removed from the filter press. This, in turn, makes replacement of worn components faster, as the whole frame does not need to be removed from the filter press. An associated horizontal filter press and a method of replacing worn components of such a filter press is also provided.

A filter press is disclosed for separating solid components from liquid components of a slurry. The filter press includes side beams and a plurality of filter plates oriented at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the side beams. The filter plates are adapted to move along the side beams. A stationary end is arranged on one end of the side beams and a movable head is adapted to transport the filter plates along the side beams. The filter press includes a press system adapted to exert a closing pressure on the filter plates to press the filter plates against each other. The press system further includes at least one electrically driven actuator adapted to generate an axially directed force on the filter plates by the movable head. The disclosure also relates to a method for separating the solid components from the liquid components of a slurry.

A filter element comprising two layers of weft (1) interlaced with warp (2). Additionally laid-in (3) yarns are provided in-between the two weft layers. The laid-in yarns (3) are not interlaced with the weft.

A filtrate collector element includes a hollow body forming a first opening portion, a second opening portion, and an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion forms a conduit between the first opening portion and the second opening portion. The collector element may be coupled with a pressure filter plate element. The outer dimension of the first opening portion is smaller than the inner dimension of the second opening portion, such that first opening portion of a preceding collector element can be at least partly nested in the second opening portion of a subsequent collector element.
