A SEALING STRIP FOR SEALING ADJACENT FILTER PLATE ASSEMBLIES OF A FILTER PRESS, SUCH AS A TOWER PRESS, A FILTER FRAME, A FILTER FRAME ASSEMBLY AND A FILTER APPARATUS
A sealing strip for sealing adjacent filter plate assemblies of a horizontal filter press. The disclosure is based on the idea of providing the sealing strip with a stiffener at a base portion of the sealing strip, positioned such that it intersects with a line running through a ridge provided on a distal portion of the sealing strip and extending along a vertical direction, perpendicular to both the length direction and the width direction of the sealing strip, as seen along the cross-sectional profile of the sealing strip. A filter frame, a filter frame assembly and a filter apparatus having such a sealing strip are also provided.
A FILTER PLATE ASSEMBLY FOR A HORIZONTAL PLATE AND FRAME-TYPE FILTER, SUCH AS A TOWER PRESS, A FILTER PLATE AND A VAT LINER
A filter plate assembly which is resistant to both wear and deformation caused by creeping, while facilitating maintenance thereof. A filtrate vat is provided that is formed on, and integral with the filter plate, in addition to a separate, replaceable vat liner. In this way, a rigid structure of the filtrate vat capable of resisting deformation may be achieved, while the vat liner separates the filtrate from the filtrate vat and the associated filter plate, providing wear resistance and facilitating maintenance. The present disclosure further concerns the filter plate and the filtrate vat.
AN OUTLET PIECE ASSEMBLY FOR A HORIZONTAL PLATE AND FRAME -TYPE FILTER, SUCH AS A TOWER PRESS
An outlet piece assembly for a horizontal plate and frame-type filter, such as tower press. The disclosure is based on the idea of providing the outlet piece assembly as having a base removably attachable to a filter press (e.g., to the filter plate or plate frame thereof), and a lid removably fixed to the base, such that an internal conduit of the outlet piece assembly running between a vat end and a discharge end is formed between the base and the lid. This enables a part of an associated filtrate vat component, such as the vat liner, to be received between the base and the lid, thereby ensuring secure sealing between these components.
A FILTER PLATE FOR A HORIZONTAL PLATE AND FRAME-TYPE FILTER, SUCH AS A TOWER PRESS
A filter plate for a horizontal plate and frame-type filter, such as a tower press. A filtrate vat formed on, and integral with a filter plate is provided along with an outlet opening as a gap on a border delimiting the vat for providing drainage route, and a recessed portion provided at the outlet opening. A rigid structure of the filtrate vat that is capable of resisting deformation may be achieved, and contamination from slurry between the filter plate and a possible vat liner or coating is avoided.
Filter press and method for separating the solid components from the liquid components of a slurry
A filter press is disclosed for separating solid components from liquid components of a slurry. The filter press includes side beams and a plurality of filter plates oriented at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the side beams. The filter plates are adapted to move along the side beams. A stationary end is arranged on one end of the side beams and a movable head is adapted to transport the filter plates along the side beams. The filter press includes a press system adapted to exert a closing pressure on the filter plates to press the filter plates against each other. The press system further includes at least one electrically driven actuator adapted to generate an axially directed force on the filter plates by the movable head. The disclosure also relates to a method for separating the solid components from the liquid components of a slurry.

The disclosure also relates to a method for separating the solid components from the liquid components of a slurry.
MECHANICAL DEMOISTURIZING OF PARTIALLY-DECOMPOSED ORGANIC MATERIAL
A process for the preparation of a concentrated filter cake from an admixture of partially-decomposed organic material and a polar liquid using a filter press without the input of thermal heat or superheated steam or other pressurized gas or liquid is provided by this invention. The admixture is mixed with an additional amount of the polar liquid to produce a feed slurry of the admixture having a moisture content of about 90-99% wt. The resulting slurry admixture is then introduced into the filter press having a plurality of filter plates with porous membranes secured along their outlet. The pressure condition introduced inside the filter plate chambers is increased by a pressurized gas or liquid to force the polar liquid from the admixture slurry though apertures contained in the membrane, thereby leaving a filter cake of the partially-decomposed organic material having a moisture content that is lower than the moisture content of the initial partially-decomposed organic material feed. The process and its equipment may be used to treat a variety of partially-decomposed organic material/polar liquid slurry admixtures, including high moisture peat containing water, and reduce the moisture content of the resulting peat filter cake to as low as 60% wt for peat or about 50% wt for a peat/Biochar admixture.
Filling shoe, a filling shoe arrangement having such a filling shoe, a filter medium assembly having such filling shoe arrangements, and a method for providing a filter medium with such a filling shoe
A filling shoe including a circular slurry opening extending between a filter plate side and a filter chamber side. A flange surrounds the slurry opening, and has an annular groove surrounding it and being arranged for receiving a filter medium. An outer edge of the body has a bevel towards the filter plate side on at least a part of the filling shoe. An outer edge of the flange is also provided with a bevel. Particularly, the filling shoe is formed as a single uniform piece of elastomer. A pin hole is provided so as to extend through the flange a position corresponding to the annular groove. A filling shoe arrangement, a filter medium assembly and a method for providing a filter medium with a filling shoe are also disclosed.

HORIZONTAL PRESSURE FILTER COLLECTOR ELEMENT, HORIZONTAL PRESSURE FILTER PLATE ELEMENT, HORIZONTAL PRESSURE FILTER, AND METHODS RELATED THERETO
A filtrate collector element includes a hollow body forming a first opening portion, a second opening portion, and an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion forms a conduit between the first opening portion and the second opening portion. The collector element may be coupled with a pressure filter plate element. The outer dimension of the first opening portion is smaller than the inner dimension of the second opening portion, such that first opening portion of a preceding collector element can be at least partly nested in the second opening portion of a subsequent collector element. A pressure filter plate element, a horizontal pressure filter, a method for providing a continuous filtrate conduit and a method for operating a pressure filter are also concerned.
