Rag seeding in wastewater treatment systems
In a wastewater treatment plant a rag seeding tank is included in a process drain to collect hair and fibers which have passed through headworks of the plant. The hair and fibers tend to join together into large masses downstream of the headworks and can be damaging to process zones, particularly membrane zones. The rag seeding tank includes cartridges filled with surfaces that fibers and hair will attach to, so that hair/fiber rags grow in the seeding tank and are removed therefrom rather than causing problems downstream.
FILTRATION DEVICES AND METHODS THEREOF
The present disclosure provides devices and methods for filtering a fluid. An example device can include a first end configured to be joined to a first segment of a pipe. The first end can include a first opening for receiving the fluid. The device can also include a second end configured to be joined to a second segment of the pipe. The second end can include a second opening for transmitting the fluid. A filtering segment can be disposed between the first end and the second end. The filtering segment can include a plurality of fiber filters oriented substantially perpendicular to a direction of flow of the fluid in the pipe. A fiber filter of the plurality of fiber filters can include a mycomaterial and a carrier material configured to provide nutrients to the mycomaterial.
VACUUM CLEANER FILTER BAG COMPRISING DUST- AND/OR FIBER-LIKE RECYCLED MATERIAL
The invention provides a vacuum cleaner filter bag, comprising a wall enclosing an interior and made of an air-permeable material and an inlet opening introduced into the wall, characterized in that the air-permeable material comprises at least one layer of a nonwoven fabric which comprises powdery and/or fibrous recycled material from the production of textiles, in particular cotton textiles, and/or from wool shearing and/or seed fibers.
DEPTH FILTER
The present invention provides a depth filter which contains fine particles and coarse particles, and which exhibits excellent filtration precision with respect to a high concentration fluid and/or a high viscosity fluid. This depth filter enables filtration for a long period of time, while maintaining a low filtration pressure.
The present invention is a depth filter which is obtained by winding a fiber sheet into a cylinder, and which comprises a pre-filtration layer and a microfiltration layer; the pre-filtration layer and the microfiltration layer are formed of a fiber sheet; the fiber sheet is composed of a nonwoven fabric or a web; the average fiber diameter of the fiber sheet continuously decreases from the pre-filtration layer toward the microfiltration layer; and the average weight per square meter of the fiber sheet continuously decreases from the pre-filtration layer toward the microfiltration layer.
Soy based filtration system
The present application relates generally to filter media useful for manufacturing air filters for residential and commercial office's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), particularly to filters and filter media comprising soybean-based materials. The present invention provides an inexpensive, effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable media for manufacturing HVAC air filters for residential and commercial buildings.
Filter medium and breather filter structure
Thermoplastic bicomponent binder fiber can be combined with other media, fibers and other filtration components to form a thermally bonded filtration media. The filtration media can be used in filter units, such as breather caps. Such filter units can be placed in the stream of a mobile fluid and can remove a particulate and/or fluid mist load from the mobile stream. The unique combination of media fiber, bicomponent binder fiber and other filtration additives and components provide a filtration media having unique properties in filtration applications.
Vacuum cleaner filter bag made from recycled plastic
The invention relates to a vacuum-cleaner filter bag comprising a wall made of an air permeable material and surrounding an inner chamber, and an inlet opening introduced into the wall. The vacuum-cleaner filter bag is characterized in that the air permeable material comprises at least one layer made from a non-woven fabric and/or a layer made from a fiber web which comprises fibers or is made from fibers which are made from a recycled plastic or a plurality of recycled plastics.
ARTICLES COMPRISING BINDERS, CROSS-LINKING AGENTS AND/OR OTHER COMPONENTS, AND RELATED METHODS
Articles comprising binders, cross-linking agents and/or other components, and related methods are generally disclosed.
MOISTURE ABSORBING FABRRIC BLEND
A moisture-retentive fabric medium includes a hydrophilic, thermoplastic polyester fiber as a blend of from 10-905% or 20-80% by total weight of textile fibers and 90-10% or 80-20% by total weight of hydrophilic textile fibers and less than 0.5% by weight of total fabric medium as microfibrillated cellulose fiber and less than 0.05% by weight superabsorbent polymers, the polyester having a melting point between 190-500 F when measured in accordance with ASTM D-3418.
