In an exhaust gas purification filter, a partition wall has communicating pores. Each communicating pore has a surface opening on the gas-inflow-side surface and a plurality of portions, each portion having a diameter being reduced and then increased from the surface opening, one of the portions, whose diameter is the smallest, being defined as an inlet neck portion. As viewed in cross section in a thickness direction of the partition wall, the surface opening of each communication pore has a diameter defined as a surface opening diameter, the inlet neck portion of each communication pore has a diameter defined as an inlet neck diameter. The inlet neck diameter is smaller than the surface opening diameter, and an average value of the inlet neck diameters is 15 μm or less. A surface opening ratio of the communicating pores in plan view of the gas-inflow-side partition wall surface is 40% or more.

A multicomponent granular absorbent blend formed of at least a plurality of components with at least one of the components formed of smectite-containing, preferably bentonite-containing, absorbent granules, and at least one other of its components formed of absorbent granules comprised of an extrudate. Such an extruded-containing absorbent granule component can be a component formed of extruded pellets covered with an outer absorbent coating preferably composed of smectite, more preferably bentonite, and/or can be a component formed of extruded pellets used without any such smectite, preferably bentonite, outer coating producing uncoated absorbent granules which also are dust-adhering thereby reducing airborne dust in the multicomponent blend. Such a component composed of uncoated dust-adhering absorbent granules can be formed of extruded splayed pellets having at least one lobe and/or fibrillated tendrils enhancing both absorption and dust pickup in the multicomponent blend.

POROUS COMPOSITE

In a porous composite, a base material has a honeycomb structure whose inside is partitioned into a plurality of cells. In the plurality of cells, a plurality of first cells whose one ends in the longitudinal direction are sealed, and a plurality of second cells whose other ends in the longitudinal direction are sealed are arranged alternately. A collection layer covers inner surfaces of the plurality of first cells. An overall Sa that is an arithmetical mean height Sa indicating a surface roughness of a surface of the collection layer in the plurality of first cells is greater than or equal to 0.1 μm and less than or equal to 12 μm. An overall mean thickness that is a mean thickness of the collection layer in the plurality of first cells is greater than or equal to 10 μm and less than or equal to 40 μm.
