LITHIUM RECOVERY FROM LIQUID STREAMS
Methods and systems directed to recovery of lithium (e.g., lithium salts) from liquid streams are provided. In some embodiments, methods relate to obtaining lithium (e.g., as a solid lithium salt) by removing at least a portion of liquid from a feed stream to form a concentrated stream with respect to solubilized lithium cations. Liquid removal may include transporting at least a portion of the feed stream to an osmotic unit and/or a humidifier. Some methods include removing impurities (e.g., non-lithium cations) from the concentrated stream (e.g., via precipitation and/or crystallization). In some embodiments, solutions containing solubilized lithium cations and anions are electrochemically-treated such that first solubilized anions are replaced with second, different anions. In some embodiments, solid lithium salt containing at least a portion of the lithium cations and the second anions is obtained (e.g., via precipitation and/or crystallization following concentration of the electrochemically-treated solution in a humidifier).
Extraction of botanical material using high-pressure hydrocarbons
An apparatus and method for extraction of oils from botanical material using high-pressure hydrocarbons such as propane, or butane, or mixtures thereof are described. A high-pressure propane or butane saturated liquid/vapor mixture formed by pressure reduction through a valve placed before an extraction column, thereby serving as an expansion port was employed. The apparatus is capable of both continuous liquid extraction or batch-style liquid operation through the use of a manifold valve, which directs the solvent liquid/vapor in the system to either a supply tank or an extraction column.
Microwave extraction of essential oils
A method of extracting an essential oil from plant matter, starting with providing plant matter to an interior of an extraction vessel, wherein the plant matter includes at least one essential oil. Next, at least one vacuum pump is used to reduce the pressure within the interior of the extraction vessel with the plant matter therein to an absolute pressure of less than 1.0 mm Hg absolute pressure. Microwave energy is applied to the plant matter while the interior of the extraction vessel is under the reduced pressure, thereby forming a vapor including at least a portion of the essential oil. The vapor is directed from the extraction vessel to at least one condenser vessel. Finally, the vapor is condensed to a liquid state such that the vapor includes at least a portion of the essential oil, by utilizing the at least one condenser vessel.
Process and apparatus for quenching a reactor effluent stream
A process and apparatus cool and remove catalyst from a hot vaporous reactor effluent stream by feeding the hot vaporous reactor effluent stream comprising catalyst and a first quench liquid stream to a first quench chamber. The hot vaporous reactor effluent stream is directly contacted with the first quench liquid stream to cool the hot reactor effluent stream and wash catalyst therefrom into the first quench liquid stream. The first quench liquid stream and the vaporous reactor effluent stream are passed together through a bed while disengaging catalyst from the vaporous reactor effluent stream and transferring catalyst into the first quench liquid stream.
ORGANIC AMMONIUM COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF THEIR USE AND MAKING
Methods and systems for converting ammonium waste streams into certifiably Organic ammonium salts having a variety of uses in greenhouse gas-reducing activities are herein described. The resulting ammonium salt compositions can be used to enhance crop yield.
Versatile semi-continuous deodorizer with combined external stripping and scrubbing column
A semi-continuous deodorizer providing a first main vessel, and a second vessel, wherein the second vessel is connected to the first main vessel by a duct for the transport of gases and vapors, the second vessel being connected to a vacuum system, wherein both the first main vessel and the second vessel are made of stainless steel and built hermetically.
Pyrolysis Vapour Condenser System and Method of Condensing Pyrolysis Vapour
A pyrolysis vapour condenser system (1) and a method for condensing pyrolysis vapour, the pyrolysis vapour condensing system comprising a condenser vessel (2), comprising a vapour inlet (3), and a cleaning device (9) for removing deposits from the vapour inlet (3). The cleaning device (9) is moveable between a cleaning position, in which it is disposed at least partially in the vapour inlet (3) for cleaning it, and a retracted position, in which the cleaning device (9) is retracted away from the vapour inlet (3) towards the condenser vessel (2).
Horizontal rotating drum retort, distillation column, and distillation system
A distillation system including a retort and a distillation column. The retort includes an inlet end, an outlet end opposite the inlet end and including an outlet opening, a rotatable drum configured to heat a product therein and move the product between the inlet end and the outlet end. The distillation column is coupled to the outlet end of the retort and configured to receive the product therein upon exiting the outlet opening of the retort. The distillation column includes a solid particle trap section positioned above the outlet opening, a packing section positioned above the solid particle trap section and including screen at a bottom end thereof, a dust filter therein, and a first bubble tray section positioned above the packing section and including a first outlet feed for outflow of a first fluid product.
Method and device for recycling and purifying water vapor from coal drying process
A method and device are provided for purifying and recycling water vapor from a coal drying process. Included are a temperature-lowering and dehumidifying process, a flash distillation stripping process, and a vacuum condensing process. A condensing tower receives a temperature-lowered exhaust gas with high humidity from a cooling tube and a condensed water of 5˜60° C. from a flash distillation tank, allowing the exhaust gas and the condensed water to contact each other in a vapor-liquid reverse manner, to lower the temperature and dehumidify the exhaust gas. The flash distillation tank performs a vacuum flash distillation to the condensing water pumped therein from the condensing tower. Water vapor of 5˜60° C. evaporated through flash distillation in the flash distillation tank enters into the demisting washer to be dehumidified and then is condensed. The condensed water in the vapor condenser is transferred into a recycled water tank. Non-condensable gas is discharged out.
