INHIBITION-FREE LOW-TEMPERATURE ENGINE EXHAUST OXIDATION CATALYST

The present disclosure provides a method for preparing a supported metal alloy catalyst for low temperature engine exhaust oxidation without CO or NO inhibition. The catalyst includes bimetallic PdCu alloy deposited on a SiO.sub.2 support using the strong electrostatic adsorption method. The PdCu catalyst may be combined with a traditional PGM-based automotive oxidation catalyst in a series or dual-bed configuration. The first stage of the dual-bed system includes the PdCu catalyst, with the primary role of oxidizing CO at low temperature; the PGM-based catalyst in the second stage then oxidizes NO and hydrocarbons in the absence of any CO-inhibition effects.

NEGATIVE EMISSION, LARGE SCALE CARBON CAPTURE FOR CLEAN FOSSIL FUEL POWER GENERATION
20230074143 · 2023-03-09 · ·

Systems and methods for eliminating carbon dioxide and capturing solid carbon are disclosed. By eliminating carbon dioxide gas, e.g., from an effluent exhaust stream of a fossil fuel fired electric power production facility, the inventive concepts presented herein represent an environmentally-clean solution that permanently eliminates greenhouse gases while at the same time producing captured solid carbon products that are useful in various applications including advanced composite material synthesis (e.g., carbon fiber, 3D graphene) and energy storage (e.g., battery technology). Capture of solid carbon during the disclosed process for eliminating greenhouse gasses avoids the inefficiencies and risks associated with conventional carbon dioxide sequestration. Colocation of the disclosed reactor with a fossil fuel fired power production facility brings to bear an environmentally beneficial, and financially viable approach for permanently capturing vast amounts of solid carbon from carbon dioxide gas and other greenhouse gases that would otherwise be released into Earth's biosphere.

Continuous biomass extraction system and process

A method for producing valuable organic liquid from a biomass wherein a heated gas is mixed with a biomass to produce an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The biomass waste product is separated from the enriched organic vapor. The enriched organic vapor is cooled to produce a liquid organic oil and the liquid organic oil is collected. A system for producing the liquid organic oil including a first separation unit to separate an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The enriched organic vapor and the biomass waste product are generated from mixing a heated gas and a biomass. The system also includes a wet scrubber for cooling the enriched organic vapor to generate an enriched organic smoke. The organic smoke can be transformed to the liquid organic oil in an electrostatic precipitator.

OXYGEN-SEPARATING DEVICE UTILIZING IONIC OXYGEN MOTION

An apparatus for separating oxygen from a gas mixture includes an oxide layer having ion transport channels therein, which facilitate the migration of oxygen ions from a first side to a second side of the layer. Molecular oxygen is decomposed into oxygen ions at the first side, whereas oxygen ions recombine into molecular oxygen at the second side. A first chamber into which a gas mixture (e.g., air) is admitted is located on the first side of the oxide layer. A second chamber receives oxygen from the oxide layer, and is located on the second side of the oxide layer; the second chamber has a polarizable medium that is in contact with the oxide layer. A gate electrode in contact with the polarizable medium applies an electric field to the second side of the oxide layer, thereby driving oxygen ions across the oxide layer.

Wet-type electric dust collection device and dust removal method

A wet-type electric dust collection device and low-concentration SO.sub.3 mist containing, in which the wet-type electric dust collection device has an electrical field formation part in which a plurality of discharge electrodes are provided on opposing surfaces of a first electrode and second electrodes for forming a DC electrical field. The discharge electrodes of the first electrode and the discharge electrodes of the second electrodes generate corona discharges that are reversed in polarity relative to each other. The gas containing the SO.sub.3 mist and the dust is guided to the electrical field formation part without electrically charging the SO.sub.3 mist and the dust or spraying a dielectric in the gas, and while the gas flows between the electrodes, the corona discharges impart electric charges of alternately reversed polarity to the SO.sub.3 mist and the dust. The first electrode and the second electrodes collect the charged SO.sub.3 mist and dust.

SOLVENT SEPARATION METHOD AND SOLVENT SEPARATION APPARATUS

Provided is a solvent separation method and a solvent separation apparatus in which a vaporized solvent is collected at one internal side of a solvent separation unit by attracting the vaporized solvent based on electric field, while the vaporized solvent is prevented from coming into contact with electrodes, and the collected solvent is discharged from the solvent separation unit. Different electric fields are alternately applied to a pair of first electrodes and a pair of second electrodes present at predetermined locations inside a tetragonal tubular solvent separation unit to attract a vaporized solvent toward the second electrodes. Thus, the vaporized solvent is collected in a space between the second electrodes inside the solvent separation unit, and the collected solvent is discharged from the solvent separation unit, together with a portion of the exhaust atmosphere present around the collected solvent.
