EVALUATION METHOD FOR PROTEIN-CONTAINING SOLUTION
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for evaluating the clogging of a filtration membrane with a protein-containing solution, including the steps of: a) passing a protein-containing solution through a filtration membrane, b) after the step a), obtaining a filtration membrane cross-section from the filtration membrane, c) treating the protein-containing solution before the step a), the filtration membrane before the step b), or the filtration membrane cross-section after the step b) with at least one stain specific to a protein aggregate, and d) confirming the presence of the protein aggregate in the filtration membrane cross-section.
Phosphorus extraction and recovery system (PEARS)
Separation methods and systems for converting high concentrations of animal wastes into nutrients and other useful products such as struvite and potassium struvite. Advantageously, the system and methods do not require the addition of external chemicals other than an acid and a base.
IMPROVING THE SENSORY QUALITY PROFILE OF PLANT PROTEIN BASED COMPOSITIONS
The invention relates generally to the field of improving the sensor), quality profile of plant protein based compositions. In particular, the invention relates to the removal of undesired plant-like aroma and astringent/bitter taste from plant protein based compositions. For example, the invention relates to a process for improving the sensor), quality of a plant protein containing composition comprising the steps of bringing the plant protein containing composition in contact with a food grade oily composition, and removing the oily phase from the plant protein containing composition.
Method of removing volatile compounds from emulsions
Various embodiments disclosed relate to methods of separating volatile compounds from a liquid feed mixture comprising an emulsion. In various embodiments, the method includes contacting a first side of a first membrane with a liquid feed mixture including an emulsion having a polymer, and at least one volatile compound. The method can also include contacting a second side of the first membrane with a sweep medium including at least one a sweep fluid to produce a permeate mixture on the second side of the first membrane and a retentate mixture on the first side of the first membrane, wherein the permeate mixture is enriched in the volatile compound, and the retentate mixture is depleted in the volatile compound.

CO2 extraction and filtration system
Provided is an extraction system which can be used to recover light oils and other organic materials during a supercritical or subcritical fluid extraction. The extraction system may include a dual purpose pressure vessel which can be used as an independent, full spectrum extractor by adding organic material within a compartment within the vessel and passing liquefied, compressed gases onto and through organic material as well as a separator to separate the extracting fluid from the extracted material. Filter membranes having different size pore openings designed to capture and retain various compounds based on their molecular size may be used in conjunction with the pressure vessel. The filter membranes are part of a filtration system which may be incorporated as an internal component of the pressure vessel or may be utilized at different locations within the extraction system.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO ASSESS AND REDUCE SALT LEVELS IN A MRU
The disclosure relates to systems and methods to assess and reduce salt levels in a monoethylene glycol (MEG) recovery unit (MRU).
Process for extracting phosgene
A process for extracting a phosgene compound, comprising providing a membrane extracting unit comprising at least one extracting cell that comprises at least one membrane contactor module having at least two sides, a gas side and a liquid side; letting an initial gas stream comprising a phosgene compound flow on the gas side of the membrane contactor module; and letting an extractant liquid stream, suitable for dissolving a phosgene compound, flow on the liquid side of the membrane contactor module so that the extractant liquid stream absorbs the phosgene compound from the initial gas stream and provides a second extractant liquid stream enriched with the phosgene compound.
