A fiber bundle contactor may include: a flow path defined by a conduit; a catalytic carbon fiber bundle disposed in the conduit; and an inlet allowing fluid flow into the flow path. A method may include: introducing into vessel a hydrocarbon comprising mercaptan sulfur, an aqueous caustic solution, and an oxidizer; reacting at least a portion of the mercaptan sulfur and the aqueous caustic solution to produce a mercaptide; and reacting the mercaptide and the oxidizer in the presence of a catalytic carbon fiber bundle to produce a disulfide oil.

VENTING OR DEGASSING OF FILTER DEVICES AND FILTRATION SYSTEMS
20220193614 · 2022-06-23 · ·

Devices, systems, and methods for continually degassing/venting a feedstream within a filtration system. The filtration system may include a filter device utilizing hollow fiber filters to filter the feedstream. Additional venting hollow fiber filters vent gas from the filtration system to outside the filtration system. The venting hollow fiber filters may have ends which expose the interior lumens thereof to outside the filter unit to vent gases which pass through the walls of the hollow fiber filters. Degassed permeate thus flows through the filtering hollow fiber filters.

METHOD FOR WASHING HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE

Provided is a method for washing a hollow fiber membrane module which comprises a hollow fiber membrane for filtering raw water containing a suspended component, said method comprising, in the following order, a first washing step for removing a suspended component that is accumulated on the hollow fiber membrane and a second washing step for carrying out an air scrubbing process in which gas is caused to pass through at least to the raw water side of the hollow fiber membrane, wherein, out of water that existed in the hollow fiber membrane module before washing, water in an amount corresponding to not less than 50 vol % of the capacity of the hollow fiber membrane module is removed in the first washing step.

In one embodiment, a transfer set includes a first connector configured to be coupled to a disposable set of a PD system, a second connector configured to be coupled to a catheter of the PD system, and a fluid channel extending between the first connector and the second connector. The transfer set further includes a filter positioned within the fluid channel and configured to filter contaminants from solution flowing within the fluid channel between the first connector and the second connector. In some embodiments, the transfer set further includes a one-way valve positioned between the filter and the second connector and configured to prevent fluid from flowing through the one-way valve in a direction toward the filter.

Perfusion filtration system

Disclosed herein is a perfusion filtration module or bioreactor for filtering a fluid, wherein the filtration module or bioreactor has a plurality of hollow fiber filter membranes that are splayed to reduce fouling of the filtration array.

GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE MODULE WITH HOLLOW FIBER CARBON MOLECULAR SIEVE MEMBRANES

A CMS membrane module includes plurality of hollow fiber CMS membranes that are enclosed within an open cylindrical shell whose ends are embedded in tubesheets. The shell is concentrically disposed within an open cylindrical pressure vessel whose open ends are covered by and secured by end caps. The shell includes a feed fluid inlet formed therein between the tubesheets and a retentate outlet in between one of the tubesheets and an adjacent end cap. A retentate seal is formed between the shell and the pressure vessel at a position between the tubesheets. A permeate seal is formed between the pressure vessel and the tubesheet that is adjacent a permeate port of the module. A structure made up of the CMS membranes, shell, tubesheets, and seals is slidable within the pressure vessel and not fixed in place in relation to the pressure vessel and end caps.
