PHOTOCURABLE COLOR CHANGING COMPOSITIONS AND METHOD OF FORMING FEATURES ON A MEMBRANE SURFACE USING THE SAME
Photocurable compositions that have a color change during curing and methods of preparation and use of such compositions. More particularly, the present invention relates to photocurable compositions that that have a color change during curing and are useful for forming topographical features, e.g., spacer features, and/or fold protection coatings on a portion of a membrane surfaces, and particularly on membranes used in osmosis and reverse-osmosis applications, such as membrane filters.
FORWARD OSMOSIS MEMBRANE AND METHOD OF PREPARING SAME
The present invention is related to an osmosis membrane, specifically to a modified forward osmosis membrane and the method of preparing same. The inventive forward osmosis membrane has a modified membrane structure including a hydrophilic support mesh and a hydrophilic polymer membrane layer mixed antioxidant. The hydrophilic polymer membrane layer with antioxidant not only has high salt rejection, but also ensures high oxidation resistance under a strong oxidation environment, and can be used safely and stably. The inventive oxidation resistant forward osmosis membrane has the advantages of improving the efficiency of purifying and separating water, extending the service life, significantly reducing the operation cost of the forward osmosis membrane system. The inventive forward osmosis membrane can be applied in the industries of treatment of strong oxidation waste water, water purifying, filtration and purification of food and medicine filtering and so on.
FORWARD OSMOSIS MEMBRANE AND METHOD OF PREPARING SAME
The forward osmosis membrane and the preparation method thereof provided by the present invention, through fully cover the support mesh layer of the membrane with antibacterial nanoparticles, especially the mixture of nano-Ag and nano TiO2, ensures without reducing the strength, water flux and salt rejection, providing an effective, long-term and comprehensive antibacterial effect. In the present invention, the antibacterial nanoparticles, especially the mixture of nano-Ag and nano-TiO2, are used to carry out antibacterial modification on the support mesh of the forward osmosis membrane, so as to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the forward osmosis membrane, improves the forward osmosis and also improves the safety of the entire purification and filtration system. The antibacterial forward osmosis membrane of the present invention can be applied to the filtration and purification of complex water sources, especially the purification and filtration of eutrophic and bacteria-prone water sources.

Filter for mammalian cell culture perfusion and clarification with hydrophobic hollow fiber
This disclosure relates to the use of a hydrophobic hollow fiber filter for the filtration of cell cultures and other biological perfusions, due to its resistance to fouling, as well as the ability to filter solutions with a high solid content. A hydrophobic hollow fiber filter may be used within a filter housing in conjunction with a process vessel and a traditional separation system. When the system is used with alternating tangential flow or tangential flow filtration, the hydrophobic hollow fiber filter results in more effective filtration of the filtrate, leading to greater concentration of the retentate, even in solution containing high levels of solids.

MEMBRANES FOR CONTAMINANT REMOVAL FROM NATURAL GAS AND METHODS FOR USE THEREOF
Disclosed is a method for removing hydrogen sulfide from natural gas. The method includes passing a natural gas feed including methane and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) through a membrane at normal operating conditions. The membrane is an asymmetric hollow fiber membrane or an asymmetric film composite membrane including a porous layer and a nonporous skin layer. The asymmetric hollow fiber membrane or the nonporous skin layer of the asymmetric film composite membrane plasticizes during the method by exposure to condensable gases with high critical temperature under the operating conditions. The membrane preferentially removes H2S over methane from the natural gas feed at a H2S/methane selectivity of from 7 to 40 when measured at 35° C. and 45 bar.
Method for packaging facilitated transport membrane
Provided is a means which makes it possible to prevent quality deterioration of a facilitated transport membrane for a long period of time. A method for packing the facilitated transport membrane selectively allowing a specific gas to permeate therethrough, includes the steps of: putting the facilitated transport membrane in a packaging body having a transmission rate of not more than 10,000 cm.sup.3/(m.sup.2.Math.24 h.Math.atm) for the specific gas; preventing a contact between the facilitated transport membrane and the specific gas; and lastly sealing the packaging body.

A purified water storage device includes a container including a cover, a bladder having a top secured to the cover and a bottom secured to a through hole of the container, a pipe for both venting and draining having an end connected to the bladder and communicating therewith, the pipe including a check valve, a water pipe having an end connected to the bottom of the bladder and communicating therewith, and a level sensor disposed externally of the container and having an end connected to the bottom of the bladder and communicating therewith. The watertight bladder is made of thermoplastic for medical or food purposes. The bladder can be replaced after a predetermined times of use rather than regular cleaning. Venting is carried out and overflow is prevented. The device has the same effect as an open container. Its material is safe and cleanness can be maintained.
