RIGID SELF-SUPPORTING MXene SEPARATION MEMBRANE AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a rigid self-supporting MXene separation membrane and a preparation method and use thereof, belonging to the technical field of membranes. In the present disclosure, a MXene material is mixed with an aluminum salt powder to conduct one-step membrane formation by hot-pressing. The pressure forms the powder into a membrane and imparts rigidity, enabling a self-supporting structure; the heating breaks an ionic bond of an inorganic metal salt to reach a molten ionic state, and free metal cations react with active oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of the MXene to form new chemical bonds (such as an Al—O bond); such a chemical bond has higher energy, achieving a desirable anti-swelling effect to improve the membrane stability. The separation membrane further has excellent conductivity and hydrophilicity.

The present disclosure relates to ruthenium promoter catalyst compositions. The ruthenium promoter catalyst compositions comprise ruthenium metal species, an oxide support material, and a promoter species independently selected from the group consisting of La, Rb, Y, Yb, K, Cs, and Ba, or hydroxides, nitrates or oxides thereof. The present disclosure also relates to various methods, processes, systems, membranes and/or reactors, which can utilise the ruthenium promoter catalyst compositions, for example in ammonia synthesis.

Zeolite-coated mesh for oil-water separation
A membrane comprising a crystalline material deposited on a porous support. The crystalline material is made of tectosilicate with a portion of the Si atoms substituted with metal atoms. The membrane is useful in the separation of oil and water.
A METHOD OF JOINING AND SEALING A VANADIUM BASED MEMBRANE TO A METALLIC CONNECTION SECTION
A method of joining and sealing a vanadium based membrane to a metallic connection section comprising: mounting a section of a vanadium based membrane on a connector formation of a connection section, the connection section being formed of a different metal to the vanadium based membrane, the connector formation providing a recess into which a section of the vanadium based membrane is seated and a connection interface in which the end face of the vanadium based membrane is proximate to or substantially abuts an adjoining face of the connector formation; mounting and operating a chiller arrangement in thermal contact with vanadium based membrane proximate the connection interface; heating a filler metal on the connection section to at least the liquidus temperature of the filler metal using a laser beam directed onto the filler metal located on the connection section and having a beam edge positioned at an offset location spaced apart from the connection interface a distance that attenuates direct heating of the vanadium based membrane by the laser beam, and on the connection section, such that the filler metal can flow over the connection interface from the offset location onto the vanadium based membrane; and cooling the filler metal to form a bridging section of filler metal between the vanadium based membrane and connection section over the connection interface.
Use of semipermeable membranes in cracking coils
A pass or tube or a section thereof or U bend in a coil in a paraffin cracker having section having a pore size in the metal substrate from about 0.001 to 0.5 microns over coated with a dense metal membrane permits the permeation of one or more of H.sub.2, CH.sub.4, CO and CO.sub.2 from cracked gases moving the reaction equilibrium to the production of ethylene and reduces the load on the down-stream separation train of the steam cracker.
Pleated filtration apparatus having a filter membrane
The present invention is directed to rigid filtration apparatus comprising a filter support and filter membrane. Such filter support is comprised of a central core. Radiating from the central core are a plurality of pleats composed of two angled walls terminating at a contact point. Such longitudinal walls circumscribe a longitudinal channel situated between the walls wherein the longitudinal channel is in communication with the central core. The longitudinal walls are comprised of a plurality of openings along the walls. A filter membrane having biocidal components may be utilized with the filter support to effectively treat contaminated fluid, gas or air. Alternatively, the composition of the rigid central core and the rigid pleats may be composed of different materials to selectively remove chemicals, biological components or pharmaceuticals in a multi-stage treatment process.

The present disclosure discloses a preparation method of an organosilica/ceramic composite membrane with a gradient pore structure. The preparation method comprises: (1) selecting a porous ceramic material as a membrane support layer; (2) gradually replacing a solvent with water to prepare zirconium colloidal sols with different particle sizes, and successively coating the prepared zirconium colloidal sols onto a ceramic support from large to small so as to form a membrane transition layer with a gradient pore structure; and (3) catalytically synthesizing an organosilica polymeric sol using hydrochloric acid, coating the prepared organosilica sol onto the preheated transition layer through ultrasonic thermal spraying to undergo heat treatment, so as to prepare the organosilica/ceramic composite membrane with the gradient pore structure. According to the present disclosure, the transition layer with the gradient pore structure is prepared by using the zirconium colloidal sols with different particle sizes. An ultrathin defect-free organosilica separation layer is prepared through ultrasonic thermal spraying. As a result, the obtained organosilica/ceramic composite membrane can be applied to the fields of salt-containing dye wastewater treatment and polypeptide bioactive substance separation.
