Air-fuel Mixer and Combustion System

Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a mixer disposed in a fuel gas combustion system and mixing air and fuel gas to form flammable mixed gases. The mixer may include: a Venturi tube having an air inlet, a fuel gas inlet, a gas mixture outlet, a central axis direction, and a throat positioned between the air inlet and the gas mixture outlet in the central axis direction, wherein the fuel gas inlet is disposed at the throat; and an adjustment component disposed in the Venturi tube downstream of the throat, the adjustment component drivable to move towards or away from the throat in the central axis direction, thereby changing a flow area of gas in the Venturi tube. The adjustment component comprises a conical valve plug with a conical outer surface thereof at a side facing towards the throat and fitting an inner surface of the Venturi tube.

A system for mixing hydrogen gas and air includes a housing extending from a first end to a second end and defining a mixing chamber. The second end receives the air. A tubular mixer in the mixing chamber extends along a central axis from a first end to a second end. The mixer has an outer surface and an inner surface defining a central passage. The second end is closed by an end wall. The mixer has first fluid directing structure for directing the air and the hydrogen gas radially inward from the mixing chamber to the central passage to form a mixture. A distributor is secured to the first end of the housing and receives the mixture from the first end of the mixer. The distributor includes second fluid directing structure for directing the mixture radially outward to a burner.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MIXING FLUIDS

A mixing chamber is loaded with a first fluid. While a volume of the first fluid within the mixing chamber is constant, first and second streams of a second fluid are injected into the mixing chamber along first and second injection directions. As a result of injecting the first and second streams of the second fluid into the mixing chamber, the first and second streams of the second fluid impinge one another so as to generate within the mixing chamber at least one further stream of the second fluid that mixes with the first fluid and that flows in a direction different to the first and second injection directions.

Motive gas is forced through an inlet into a mixing chamber in a direction opposite a suction port, creating a Venturi that draws gases from the delaquering chamber through the mixing chamber. The motive gas and the drawn gases mix and are forced through a discharge port, ignited, and injected into the melt chamber to help heat the melt chamber. A computer monitors process conditions and controls a regulator that adjusts the motive gas flow in response to those conditions.

The mixer is configured to direct exhaust gas from the conduit, into an engine air intake system. The mixer is arranged with an exhaust gas mixing volute chamber having a plurality of mixing vanes configured to direct the exhaust gas into a central intake airflow upstream of an intake manifold.

At the small-capacity time, in case the opening degree of the variable throttle valve, when regulated so that the λ becomes a predetermined value, has been changed more to the small-opening-degree side than the predetermined small-capacity opening degree, in a state in which the opening degree of the variable throttle valve has been returned to the predetermined small-capacity opening degree, the opening degree of the butterfly valve is regulated such that the λ becomes the predetermined value, and the small-capacity opening degree of the butterfly valve is renewed to the predetermined value when the λ becomes the predetermined value.

This fluid mixer includes a Venturi tube having a constriction section at which the flow path area is reduced, the Venturi tube having formed therein a first inflow opening and a second inflow opening through which a second fluid flows into a low-pressure region produced due to an increase in fluid velocity when a first fluid passes through the constriction section. A valve body that is disposed within the Venturi tube, the valve body closing due to the pressure of the first fluid passing through the Venturi tube and changing the flow path area of the Venturi tube, blocking off the first inflow opening when closed, and opening the first inflow opening when opened; and a biasing part (elastic body) applying a biasing force in the valve closing direction of the valve body.
